Didn't really understand its significance..........conversation with a local TD and before Christmas has nothing really to do with anything...up the garden path in relation to what?..........That's why I didn't reply.
What about my question.....its easier to understand, you can't wait for next election, who are you putting in in their place? Extremely simple question. I'll put my cards on the table.....right now I'd re-elect FG.....that could change of course, but I'm really really struggling to see an alternative.

wallflower he sure isnt my local td yet felt obliged to tell me about the pre election promises that were given to him in regards to roscommon general hospital by his then party...it was him and the people of roscommon that were led down the garden path along with a whole lot more....carers/oaps/gardai/nurses.....it was a win and lie thru your teeth at all cost election by the blueshirts.......i really have to agree with ye about an alternative..but the simple fact of the matter is the blue shirts are doing exactly the same and in some cases much worse than their predecessors in fianna fail / degressive democratts......

ok....local issue, Roscommon hospital; I believe he may well have been misled. What will be interesting in the next election, will he be like other TDs who were in similar positions who all of sudden "re-join" the party before next election.....we shall see.
As far as I recall all the parties at election time were promising the retaining of the statuses of numerous hospitals around the country. FG renaged on many of these promises. We'll never know what the others would have done, when there was no money to do so. But that's speculation. FG certainly did do an about face post-election. No question. I accept that.
But back to my question, if not them , who do you intend to vote for?

ok, thanks for the reply......needless to say I won't be.
I do wish (like silvergreaser) they'd outline exactly how they'd handle the "debt" issue - forgetting about the legitimacy of it - i.e. where were/are we supposed to get money from? and what cost etc etc? "Burn the bond-holders" yeah, yeah, yeah - all for it myself but how does it play out.
The most important factor was "time", that is what we have got - and tbh time to get out of the whole thing if you ask me. In time, it will be seen as the opening play in an overall master plan.....more to come over the years.
Regardless of what you think I'm glad it was Noonan/Howlin/Honahan etc and not Pearse Doherty (SF) or McGrath (FF) leading the way. At the moment, no comparison, whether you like him or not, its a man against boys in this regard.
