This is a fantastic initiative, fair play to all involved.
I hope to make it to your next meeting. I am baffled  as to why the HRI couldn't come up with  similar leadership and inventiveness. I don't go racing as much as I use to but this sort of enterprise encourages me greatly. It would be great if the club could get enough members so it could buy or lease a racehorse.

I remember being at a race meeting where a "racing club" had a winner. There was over 200 people in the parade ring which I thought was brilliant to see. I often wondered why this wasn't properly pursued by HRI. Every big organisation should be encouraged to get involved in owning a racehorse i.e. Google, An Post, Pepsi, Dell, Board Gais, ESB etc.(100 club members @ 5 euro per week) Easy! I am sure the Dublin Racing Club could do something similar.

Thanks a million for the encouraging replies all.

Not sure about horse ownership just yet. We would like to but cash is king and people don't have it at present. Our survey didn't indicate there was massive demand for it either. Hopefully sooner rather than later though.

As for €5 a week for 100 members being easy - I wouldn't like to be the one having to collect the money! :)
