Maybe a lot of people are watching something that is a little more important on RTE this afternoon.
Report richters December 5, 2012 3:50 PM GMT
thread on the racing forum....
Report hardlyuseless December 5, 2012 3:53 PM GMT
What could be more important than backing a 4/7 loser?
Report punchestown December 5, 2012 4:12 PM GMT
It was a bit hard to see as the  Ambulance horsebox was partially blocking the view but it looked like the horse just planted on him and I don't think there was anything untoward going on,the main forum would I'm sure beg to differ.
Report gemini01 December 5, 2012 6:46 PM GMT
some difference in the SP 4/7 and the Betfair SP 2.20 for something not to be up punchestown, a 100 per cent difference. Someone filled their account up by laying it..
Report workrider December 5, 2012 6:49 PM GMT
as has been pointed out on here before , those in the know from a certain yard seemed to get it right all the time in running now....having experienced it myself on here recently , i now leave ir on that stable alone ....
Report gemini01 December 5, 2012 7:01 PM GMT
this was before the start workrider, it was 1.63 and went out to 2.20 with it being 4/7 on the show from an early 4/6
Report Frank The Tank December 5, 2012 7:10 PM GMT
No it didn't move from 1.63 to 2.2 on here pre race as i had a bet on this market at 15:17 just before they jumped off and the fav was 1.63.

Whatever way they used to calculate the Betfair SP in this instance is in no way reflective of what price it was trading on here at the off.

The likelihood is that there was a delay in switching the market in play by which time the fav was odds against on account of being left at the start.
Report workrider December 5, 2012 7:20 PM GMT
well just be careful in future  gemini , plenty of sharks from a certain stable just waiting to gobble up your cash....they know.....
Report tony57 December 5, 2012 9:24 PM GMT
im not sure about if the men in the know layed the horse what i do know is it did not look good..not so much that what happend ..but that no one said a word on atr?...maybe im going over board?..but as others have said it may have planted itself..but we never got to see?..and what i saw was a jockey making sure he was at the back?
Report BJG December 5, 2012 9:28 PM GMT
Was around 1.66 or dat way on the off, BSP went funny as it often does
Report pa lapsy December 5, 2012 9:33 PM GMT
Might be Frank could be right,he was left a fair bit at the start, surprised he didn't try to make up a bit of ground in the early part of the race, left with way too much to do when pace quickened about 3 1/2f out.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 9:41 PM GMT
Frank is correct, price contracted after the off,Layers at the track with time advantage laying before the market suspends  and hence the Bsp.
Report Ozymandius December 5, 2012 9:45 PM GMT
phew, that's another conspiracy theory debunked.
Report wildmanfromborneo December 5, 2012 9:53 PM GMT
The mare just refused to start and as I said about the Fairyhouse bumper all his horses are running for their lives as Patrick is going for the record which is why he is riding these odds on shots in hurdle races.
She was heavily backed from 4/5 into 4/7 but would be interested in dj876 take on the betting,I would also like to thank him for his logical explanation for what seemed to me a crazy Bsp.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 10:04 PM GMT
Anyone that was watching the betting would know this is what happened, fairly obvious gemini just checked the timeform site and saw the difference in betting between Isp and Bsp was 100% because it's not 100% between 4/7(isp) and 2.2(bsp)but timeform will adjust the percentages taking into account commission.

Don't get your question wildman??It was a weak mares bumper im Wexford and Mulins is running at an overall strike rate of 45% and 66% in bumpers (before today) over the last fortnight.
Report wildmanfromborneo December 5, 2012 10:10 PM GMT
Would I be right in saying she was heavily backed?
In fairness to you when something is pointed out that is so logical(the lads on the course seeing her being left) I am left wondering how I didn't get it quicker.
Report Tolmi December 5, 2012 11:00 PM GMT
As a matter of interest dj876 did the Betfair SP show any contraction in any of the other prices relative to the track SP.I can see how the BSP of the fav would have gone sharply out because of her acting up but I doubt track punters would have been able to contract other horses quite as quickly.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 11:22 PM GMT
Carrigeen Kigelia Bsp-5.58,Isp-5.5 ,Works out Isp was 3% shorter after commission.

BSP Overround or should I say underround was 88%,industry overround 136%.
Report Tolmi December 5, 2012 11:38 PM GMT
Thats highly unusual to have a Betfair SP percentage at 88%.The fav must have been planted when the suspend button was pressed.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 11:40 PM GMT
Frank is correct, price contracted after the off,
should have wrote expanded or drifted obviously.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 11:45 PM GMT
Tolimi, very unusual to be 12%, because bots would normally correct it.
Report Tolmi December 5, 2012 11:49 PM GMT
Thats what I was thinking. There must have been a huge lay at 2.2 put in when the Fav was planted but before the suspend. That lay swept all the back bets from 1.6 ish to 2.2.Nice touch for someone.
Report dj876 December 5, 2012 11:53 PM GMT
Ya interestingly the Bsp place  price returned in line with the Isp (1.16)-would have collected by a short head. She hit a low in running of 1.73,carigeen Kigelia matched at 1.22 ir
Report Tolmi December 5, 2012 11:55 PM GMT
Thanks for that dj.
