if i make less than 10 points profit from my selections over that time. I am allowed 1 selection a day all 1 point win. I will post my selection before 10am. Bets settled at the price at the time of selection and unlike Stubby i will keep my promise
Wildman will not want to see you go, he counts you as part of his axis, maybe you are his Italy.
Btw I am a man of my word and my word is my bond and i will leave this forum maybe as early as the weekend.

Very impressive start bws: I was going to write earlier that there shouldn't be any need to self-impose an exile as racing threads are what is badly needed here, regardless of success rates. well done!

To be honest i hate sharing info but decided to do it for the week to show how good i am.
Will aftertime a bit by saying i backed JJ Walsh winner in the 1M Handicap at 11 on here and layed Saint Gervais in the last. He is a hound. I backed the four Elms at big prices this morning but got done close home. Had cross doubles and trebles done on nusery winner and the two menntioned. Could have been a great day.

Horse with ability running off a Mark I think it can win off. Jockey is all right. Third run of the season so should be spot on. Ground not ideal but can't have everything and it should not be 25/1 IMO.

Ure horse travelld well but blew up turning in d last day. I find that those type of horses tend to disappoint next time out and regain their form on the third run of the season.

Plenty of quiet money for your selection today Bigwillystyle but why at 25/1 did you not have a point each way.Still well done and what a great start you had with your 9/1 winner but you really should be finished as your profit should now be 14.25 points.

I can't agree with you there and for confirmation compare the prices on the place market here with the each way odds in these handicap hurdles, you will find the odds are much lower on the place market here, bookmakers hate the each way bets in these races which should tell you something.

BWS restricted himself to 1pt win only and in selecting horses with rewarding place possibilities it opens a debate.
Having arrived at 90% of his target on day 1 it made sense to cover the e/w part of the bet. If you were concerned about preserving your capital the bet would have been 0.5pts e/w and nothing would have been lost.
Big Willy no doubt has his eye on greater profits but the win or e/w argument is always of interest to me and the dilemma of higher profit versus preservation of capital (or more modest returns on capital) is one I struggle with.
I usually fail by being too greedy and, on at least 50% of my losing bets, I find that I have left something behind me.
Many of the advertising tipsters will claim "success" if they tip a placed horse e/w at 5/2 or 9/4 and, being kind, they are adopting a conservative approach to preserving capital. The problem with this approach is if it is misrepresented in glossy adverts.

My attitude to each way is governed more by the shape of the race than the price.I would regularly go each on 5 runner races,8-10 runner races,16 runner handicaps and races where a 5th place is paid as a bonus.
In order to get a feel as to whether an each way play is mathematically justified I would regularly compare the odds on the place element of the bet to the place only odds here. For example if you are backing something each way at 6/1 and a 1/4 the odds if it is 3.25 a place on here you WILL lose long term no matter what the individual result is.

depends on the reason you are bacing it.if you hear from the stable that its fancied to win an ew bet is a must.if its just a flutter you fancy off your own back then a win bet is way to go.my theory is if its fancied to win ,worst case itl place..

This horse is at least a stone better than his mark. Was on the bridle turning in the last day and wasnt pushed to hard to the line. That was against much better horses rated around 120. Should go close today.

The day he won in Listowel there was nothing off in behind. Had a big rep but I never liked him over hurdles. Looks like he could be decent over fences. Think Taffees could get stuck in d ground. Danger is Meades horse but I'd say u will prob win. Good luck

Ozymandius 26 Oct 12 17:21 Good luck KL, good start.
We need this to be a winning thread because of late even you have looked like an ordinary everyday losing punter. No doubt this thread will re-establish your reputation.

Ozymandius 24 Oct 12 18:33 Come on Snap. Time to get back on the horse, so to speak.
You only have to look at today's Navan thread to see that tipping horses is a tough game. There is no shame in tipping 16 straight losers.

Labeling Keen Leader a baboon on his tipping thread at a time when you should already have left the forum after the failure to meet your own target was a deliciously ironic way to sign off.

Bigwillystyle you did something Rocketfingers never did you returned a profit, your reluctance to back them each way stopped you making a huge profit. You had seven selections two were unplaced one won at a massive 9/1 the other four were placed at odds of 25/1,8/1 10/1 and 7/1 you can't be accused of going for obvious ones.I assume anyone following you here would have backed them each way and that would have yielded them a whopping 17.75 point profit.
