Wonder who comes in for the ride on Camelot (assuming he runs) on Sunday . No surprises to see Joseph unable to do the 8 stone 11lb. He struggled to do 9st 3lbs at Dundalk last week.

Murtagh will probably get passed over I would say. I mean even if the horse is drawn on the wide outside he'd still offer up his usual tactical genius and get him boxed in with nowhere to go a furlong out.

Dropping like flies at the front of the market, first Snow Fairy then Danedream and Nathaniel, even my quiet fancy lively outsider "No Risk at All" is gone.

Maybe Camelot might take his chance afterall in a much weakened field?, his defection will weaken it even further.

Reliable Man EW for me more by default than design, if it runs of course?.

Spot on thebrave Frankie takes the mount. 10-1 taken late yesterday afternoon about this happening, 5-4 was the last price I saw before markets suspended. Not such a big surprise ! Hope he wins now

Godawful and Coolmore where not very friendly back then though, relations would be a whole lot better now, Aiden has had runners at their big meeting and i think i heard they had bought some Darley stock too

i await the outcome with more than a little interest , as was said frankie did not please his paymasters when riding a leger winner for coolmore a few years back ....

From memory I think Frankie was unavailable to ride in Ireland for Godolphin that day

Going to have a look

Not quite right but similar. Frankie asked the Sheikh's permission to ride Motivator in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown that day and then he jumped off him to ride Scorpion in the St Leger for Coolmore instead

Mentioned in this article in Telegraph

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/horseracing/2364926/Dettori-to-ride-Scorpion-in-St-Ledger.html
http://www.breakingnews.ie/archives/2005/0829/sport/frankie-quite-likely-for-motivator-ride-218278.html

Can't believe that it was back in 2005!

Frankie quoted in Guardian 3 days before the race

"I don't know anything about Scorpion, no one has spoken to me about it,"

LOL - you could be right there!

Personally I think Frankie is gone at the game and is more of a negative than a positive. If Camelot has a bad draw you can see Frankie writing the race off in his head already.

SADLY I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT DB1974......i think he is a big race jockey though , and just might be up for it..i'm hoping with all the withdrawls coolmore might have a plunge on this fellow and drive its price into the ground ..then i'll lay it ...cant see this fellow beating older horses....

Listen lads, Dettori is probably in the region of 7lbs a better jockey than Jp, and would have won the Leger cosily on Camelot. No doubt the young man panicked with all the pressure, triple crown etc. So listen dont be laying Camelot for too much, Dettori is a great man for the big ocassion, and listen the opposition is somewhat sub-standard, so beware...............Camelot and Frankie could be a match made in Paris...........................

Don McClean went for Sea Moon and Masterstroke on Newstalk last night. Both win only. Hayley reckoned Shareta.

Liam Nash on Sport at Seven this evening went for Shareta and Great Heavens. Both each way.

Heading over on Sunday morning after spending Saturday at Gowran.

Should be a cracker of a card. I'm hoping for as many Irish wins as possible. Camelot in the big one for me would make my weekend if not Silver Greaser's! Laugh

Actually soapp the race has cut up so badly even the one I was going to back almost by default Reliable Man was taken out yesterday, there is 3 pacemakers 2 for O'Brien and one for the fancied **** horse, looking at the race the best of St Nics form surely gives him an excellent EW shout at around 12/1, I'll probably be cheering for Joseph on Sunday, what I think of the stable doesn't mean I'm immune to backing some of their horses, I'm sure both Camelot and St Nic will be running on their merits on Sunday, whether they're good enough remains to be seen?, no need to try and second guess the stable in the Arc.

You usually have 3 choices in the bookmakers, take the morning price, the industry price which is the English bookmakers own live shows or you can write PMU on your docket if you want French tote odds steve.
By:

How do i know what the PMU tote odds are ? forgive my ignorance silvergreen and thanks for the info
The tote is the money taken in and devided among winners and each way correct?

i'll try what you said in the morning but it may only be the totes above.
By:

When: 06 Oct 12 22:46
Steveirll, The PMU as far as I know is amalgamated with the English and Irish totes, so I wouldn't guarantee you'd get anything near 7/1 on Camelot, because if a horse is showing up on the the tote at ridiculous odds there is usually a flood of money before the off which shortens it up considerably, back in the 80's and 90's taking the PMU on a foreign runner on the French or American racing would often give you huge dividends.
