Big ask to get a horse ready for the opening day of the season, win at Royal Ascot and then run in a Group 1 after a near 3 month break. Definite lay for me at evens or less.
Pause Switch to Standard View Dawn Approach -lay or play.

play for me i think this horse is special...

I'm not saying he can't win Tony but he has been asked a lot of questions as a 2yo.I think this might be his only chance to win a Group 1 before Godolphin mess him up.The race is due off at 640 and he will be the anchor leg in lots of multiple bets.Hopefully he will start at a very short price.

First thoughts were Dawn Approach looked a good thing, very admirable performer as he seems to find when asked.Closer look at form lines makes me wonder though.
DA beat CC by a length at Ascot,Probably beat CC by 1 3/4L,Probably next time out was 2 1/4L behind Leitir Mor,so strictly on form lines Leitir mor and Probably ought to have a chance against DA.If the 8 run i,d be more inclined on an ew at double figures on one of them two.
As you said 3 months off as well Eddie,Sir Prancealot franked Dawn Approaches Ascot run in the G2 at Doncaster just now.

i understand your concern eddie..but as i said i think this horse is special..i hope he shows it next year as well but you have to back your own judgement so as long as he is around evens i,ll play...only£50..but i,ll play....

I agree with you 100% Eddie.

1) Once Godolphin get involved it's like a lead baloon.

2) 3 month delay must mean a setback or two.

3) Cristoforo Colombo looked like p issing up LTO until came down in the Heinz 57 Stakes. Aidan talked him up this morning with Des Cahill

Good value to back Columbo, evens poor value in a hard race.

I think if this race were say 2 months ago Dawn A would be odds on and a certainty,it is not the level of opposition that is the worry, but whether Dawn A has had enough for the season.

I'm not sure but think this race was an afterthought rather than a target. The question also is if JB was training it next season would it be running tomorrow?

Cristoforo Columbo is out-I have laid DA at an average of 1.67.Bolger obviously has a serious interest in New approach doing well at stud-I am asking myself did Jim push him hard to get there and if he did can he peak again today. If he wins he wins but I have to be against him at 4/6.

Dawn A seems amazingly short but has pretty clear form over the rest - hasnt AOB got anything better to pitch against him tho?
Report pa lapsy September 15, 2012 7:51 PM BST
Very impressive, probably off to the Dewhurst now, don,t think i,d like to take him on either.

Its a really poor year for 2yr olds.

Dawn Approach aside there look a very very average bunch. With Godolphin more than likely ruining Dawn Approach altho i hope they don't. The 2000 Guineas could be as wide open as ever.
Report wildmanfromborneo September 17, 2012 1:15 PM BST
Eddie Batt you only lent the money as Dawn Approach will probably never win another race,he will almost certainly be trounced in the Dewhurst,as for the Guineas well anybody with some money available to tie up til next May should just steal whatever money crops up here but doubt there are that many mugs.
The bookmaker quotes were a joke and an insult to our collective intelligence, the **** representive should consider another career with his craven 4/1 quote.

Really like this horse and would have loved to see it stay with Bolger,it has been on the go since March and won on a lot of different surfaces,it has no flashy turn of pace but finishes its races well and looks up for a battle if and when it comes.
