Really fancied him to win the listed race at 3.05 in Donc but the rain before the first has really tempered the optimism.  Ground now only good (from good to firm).  Anyone any opinion?

Well fancied on the main forum. Pity I didn't spot it. He gave valid reasons why it was going to hose up.

One look at todays race told me that if the real Sole Power turned up the horse should have been closer to odds on never mind 5/2, but I was also aware of the horses past history when contesting listed and weak group races after a top class performce in top class races, the horse was nearly always well beaten, why do you think he started at 100/1 in the Nunthorpe?, although he had a cracking run behind top sprinter Equaino in the Palace House only to be beaten in 3 weak listed races and a weak group 3 afterwards, his performance in the Nunthorpe took some explaining after those 4 dismal runs, and when the rain came today coupled with my suspicions that the trainer might be using the race as an easy to expand his price for another go at the Abbaye where he was very unlucky last year, I decided unfortunately to keep my powder dry and wait to back it for the Abbaye instead.

correction 2 listed and one group 3 before his Nunthorpe shocker.

Sole Power always runs on his merits and for someone to suggest they might want to expand his price for the Abbaye is just wrong.
Sole Power is a good ground horse who needs to come off a fast pace so is hard to win with.

Put a €100 on him to win one day at 12's after receiving a tip in England and he duly obliged, did not know he was out today one of my fav horses in training. Cry
