Galway @ 3/1 is a gift! Actually trading around 4.3 on purple. They are calm, focused have an excellent management, have Joe Canning and have hammered Kilkenny once already this year. KK were made look better than they are by Tipps implosion and they have done little to suggest they can close the 10 point gap Galway had over them in the Leinster Final. Kilkenny at 1/3 is based on reputation and not on form. Galway have been flakey before but if they were going to slip up it was going to be in their semi final against Cork and they are coming into Sundays game from the perfect position to cause another upset.

Yes they are ridicously good value but I cant seem them catching the Cats on the hop again. KK did not turn up in the Leinster final, scoring 4 pts in the opening half just shows you they had an off day. Take nothing away from Galway, from the very first puck their intensity was unreal. Maybe KK under estimated them, if they did I'm sure they will learn their lesson. Cant see this KK team letting the same happen again.
Should be a cracker.

Kilkenny hammered this Galway team in the league ok its the league not the championship, buts its hard to take the Leinster final result at face value, there was no way this Galway team had improved that much and Kilkenny deteriorated that much, it was a freak result that can happen from time to time, tactically they got it spot on, and I've noticed Kilkenny often under perform when its wet, windy and murky, maybe Galway are praying for rain on Sunday?.
Having said that I think it should be a tight enough final, but you can't be sure?, as pressure goes I'd say Galway will be feeling it a little more because they haven't won it since 88 and after that Leinster victory the expectation will be high in the county although slightly deflated I'd say after Kilkennys dismantling of Tipp.

Cody is the master trainer.........he will have his players heads right.........they will be in peak condition and know the job on the day....... will nearly always get the tactics right.
Just like a top racehorse trainer it's all about peaking on the big day forget about this laps of the pitch lark.

its galways year lads....they have brought a new intensity to the table this year....the confidence they will have recieved after beating kilkenny in the leinster final could see them through here....

Everybody is saying Kilkenny won't be beaten again but why not? they're clearly not the force they were and people who were saying that their performance against Tipp the last day clearly know nothing about hurling. Tipp have completely fallen by the wayside and they made Kilkenny looked really good. Obviously, there won't be the one team show like there was in the Leinster final and the return of Delaney and co, along with a rejuvenated TJ Reid, will make Kilkenny a much stronger outfit. Personally, it's a very hard game to call this Sunday and there's every chance that it's gonna be the best final we've seen in a hell of a long time. But at the prices, Galway are the way to go and with a four points head start on the h'cap, there's every chance that the bookies have got this one slightly wrong.

kk have a habit of running riot on a team if they get in front of them.kk could be winning by a point with 5 min to go and win by 10.if you fancy galway.back them at 3s and stick your chest out!!

Unlike Cody to make changes, probably suggests he's worried.
Big Walter is completely untried at this level, but he could hardly do any worse than Fennelly/Fogarty did the last day and the bench looks a little stronger now.

saw Walsh warming up before a minor match a few years back, worst skills of any of the KK hurlers but he was the boyo who hit the back of the net when the match started
best of luck to him

I am of the opinion that the KK management are fearful. Why else would they play Walter Walsh, who did not impress me in the u21 game versus Clare. Remember Clare beat them well. I thought he was very ordinary that day, and its a big, big call from Brian Cody, to put him in for his first taste of senior championship hurling. If it backfires, and it may well do so, this could be Cody's final game as KK manager. Galway to win, and win well for me.

Re the sending off he was unlucky. Delaney was holding Donnelan;s hurley (An Art that Kilkenny introduced and have mastered and shoudl be a sending off offence in its own right imo) and as Donnellan swung his wrist to free it Delaney got what he deserved across the face (Are the helmets any good at all?) It was no sending off and a case of power tripping by the linesman.
Game was over anyway but that finished it. The could have blown up straight after that to be honest and all gone
