It's coming down to the business end of things in the club championships around the country.

Anyone have any fancies? Matches or outright.

I've backed Navan O'Mahony's outright for the Meath SFC at 6/4. They're coming to a boil at the right time. Certainly the team to beat this year, hammering Blackhall Gaels by 16 pts at the weekend without the likes of Mark Ward and Kevin Reilly while David Bray (brother of Stephen) made his return. They have been hampered with injuries the last two years, but now that everything is going right for them this season it's theirs to lose.

Reigning champions Summerhill look the biggest threat at 7/2, next in line are Donaghmore/Ashbourne who were surprisingly beat by St. Pats of Stamullen on Saturday. The rest are mediocre, very poor standard of football on show all year.

Down championships this weekend...i will post my selections here on thursday....big shock in cavan last weekend the fly....cavan gaels beat at odds of 1/10......castlerahan might have an outside chance now in cavan...

Seen that richters, that is a huge shock alright! Killygarry narrowly beat them that blows the whole championship wide open now. Castlerahan now play Kingscourt who the bookies have pencilled in as favourites. I think it's between them two however you cant right off Killygarry after pulling that one off!

Seanie must be laughing his head off!

i had a treble up on sun fly castlerahan, latton and banagher Derry.....paid around 2/1 was goin to throw cavan gaels in.....there is some good value in the club championships if you study closely enough and dont jump in with both feet at the heavy odds on shots...

Nice one richters.

Ulster football seems to be strong, apart from Cross in Armagh all the other county championships seem to be very competitive, good value to be had. Going to wait and see what the bookies throw up and might stick an accumulator on for the weekend.

I'll post my picks here on Thurs aswell!

In the derry championship kilrea are 11/10 to beat loup tomorrow night with powers and lbrokes. Last weekend Kilrea drew with ballinderry after missing a sitter with the last kick of normal time and then losing in extra time. Loup defeated  a depleted Craigbane team by 16 in the backdoor after losing to Glenullin in a replay in the first round. Kilrea were inches away from deservedly beating the 6/5 favourites for the title and becoming clear second favourites. Kilrea defeated loup by 3 or 4 in the semi finals last year and unless last week has taken too much out of them they really should have too much for Loup. I would price Kilrea as 4/6, 8/13 so 11/10 underdogs represents some value.

Ballinascreen should be far too good for Lavey on Saturday. I would price it as 1/3 or 1/4 but Ladbrokes have a stand out 1/2.

Banagher v Glenullin perhaps represents the most inaccurate prices. Glenullin available at 4/9, banagher 9/4 at lads. Glenullin hammered by Slaughtneil last week with Gerard O'Kane pulling up in the warm up and won't be playing this week either. Without supply Paddy and Eoin Bradley van't infleunce the game. Banagher came back from 5 points down midway through the second half last Sunday against Steelstwon to win by 4 with county players Mark Lynch and PJ McCloskey running the show. Think this should be 4/6 glenullin banagher 6/4. 9/4 is generous.

A Navan double - Simonstown 4/6 V Walterstown on Sunday
                   Navan O'Mahony's 1/2  V Seneshalstown on Saturday

Not much value available in the down championship this weekend with the bookies seemingly pricing up just about right.....
tonight:
Longstone v An Riocht...a mourne derby with longstone the division 1 team taking on an riocht from division 2....ambrose Rodgers and Mark poland should be to strong for an riocht with former county player john clarke their most prominent player.
Clonduff v Rostevor.....Another local derby with clonduff from division 1 taking on rostrevor from division 2.....rostrevor had a big win in their last game running up a big score, clonduff lost their last game in this round robin series so need to win this tonight.rostrevor are currently top of division 2 but could of done with caolan mooney who is now with collingwood in australia.....this should be a tight affair with clonduff proving to strong with thie 3 or 4 experienced county men, aidan carr, darren o hagan and jason brown.
Tempo are expected to beat erne gaels in fermanagh tonight

so my bet tonight is:
Longstone 1/4
Clonduff 4/9
Tempo 1/3

6/4 treble

Just to add to my post above:
A Navan double - Simonstown 4/6 V Walterstown on Sunday
                   Navan O'Mahony's 1/2  V Seneshalstown on Saturday

In the Meath intermediate football championship, the two games that really matter in the grade this weekend are the meetings of Trim/ Ballinlough and Na Fianna of Enfield/St Michaels.

Trim Ballinlough - Two former senior giants, both sides have already secured a q/f but a semi final spot is up for grabs. Whoever wins will finish top meaning they automatically go straight into the semi finals. PP have installed The Lough at 6/5 and Trim favs at 8/11. I dont know how they come up with these odds! Both teams meet earlier in the league and The Lough won comfortably by 7 pts. League and championship are two different animals I know but Ballinlough should be favs for this one, Peadar Byrne will be the only county player on show between both teams, has been in great scoring form. Take Ballinlough.

Na Fianna St Michaels - Another Town v Country clash, both teams are 3 from 3 in their group so again whoever wins tonight will secure a place in the last four. The Micks are a handy young side with the average age of their squad 22. Na Fianna, have certainly been the team of the champ so far. They amassed a score of 3-22 last weekend against Clann Na Gael, I know CnaG had not much at stake but it was some performance from the Enfield men. The Micks will look to Ciaran Lynch for their scores while they have Daithi Regan on the bench but they wont have enough to curtail the NF fire power. Experienced players like Mick Foley (former Leitrim footballer), Jamie Queeney and Shane Barrett (former LOI soccer player) should see them win with a bit to spare.

So to conclude - Simonstown 4/6, O'Mahony's 1/2, Ballinlough 6/5 and Na Fianna 4/5 accumulator.

**CORRECTION** - Na Fianna 4/6
Report GANT007 September 8, 2012 12:42 PM BST
Thefly10.........I wouldn't have Na Fianna as a town team........not many lads from Enfield village on it..........all the Dubs go home to the mothers at the weekend.
Report thefly10 September 9, 2012 10:32 AM BST
Well they have the pick of the town gant. I know not many lads from Enfield on the team majority are from Baconstown..

They beat the Micks last night by 5 pts I think it was. O'Mahony's also beat Seneschalstown.

Just looking at the team they had out last night - M. Brennan; S. O'Toole, N. McKeigue, I. Matthews; B. Dillon, S. Crosby, G. O'Brien; S. McKeigue, D. Moran; D. Bray, A. Forde, D. Maguire; J. Regan, S. Bray, S. Keating. Subs: C. McGuinness for S. McKeigue, D. Murtagh for Maguire, S. Gillespie for Regan, S. MacGabhann for Dillon, G. O'Dowd for D. Bray.

Add Mark Ward and Kevin Reilly. Paddy Smith also, he must have been injured. They will win senior unless they beat themselves.

O'Mahony's crowned Meath Senior champions today beating Wolfe Tones 1-11 0-7.

Back them to win Leinster serious value...
