Champagne corks being popped all over Donegal as I type. Mayo must have at least 3 key players doubts for the Final

If it was January 10th Sunday 2pm throw in Donegal v Mayo the crowd would be 10-12,000

There must have been at least 10 mins of injury time in the 2nd half. Why don't they just stop the clock, when players are wasting time?

Delighted for Mayo.

Could have beaten Dublin by 10 points if a few of those goal chances had gone in.

Anaglog - u come across as a w anker.  Donegal are looking for 55k tickets alone.  The match will be sold out in no time.  Mayo will bring a big crowd as well.

Donegal v Mayo...Not good...Not good atall atall . . .Stadium will be half empty after the Dubs leave when the minor final finishes. RTE Lowest watching viewers ever(Nap) mightn't even touch a million viewers. Bookies may close the satchels no one will have an interest on it. Liverpool v Manchester United 1pm & Manchester City v Arsenal 4pm on as well...Disaster for Gaelic Football the Dubs not been there.

Donegal v Mayo . . Should be about 10,000 at it .
are you having a laugh mayo are  besides dublin the best supported team when they play at croke park  .and compared to some of the winners  now how to celebrate their day out despite losing. 2004  being a  prime example thousands still drinking away at 5 o clock monday morning when the *arstards closed the bar at city west. as for the atmosphere going back through dublin to  city west after the game you would think kerry had lost no celebrating at all

Any resemblance between the Dubs from last year and this year is confined to the colour of their jerseys .  Largely played off the park today , until they started the messy stuff and upset Mayos excellent rhythm .  Up to the ref to step in there , failed to do so , trust Coldrick will get the final .

Not anti Dub myself , but seldom have been so delighted to see them beaten  , purely because the other side played most of the football and a Dub win would have been the ultimate injustice .

Think it will be a good final , both teams have played excellent football for their last series of matches   , hope they can both reproduce it on the big day .

Louth's in the Junior Final and Millwall a point off the leaders. . .And Donegal and Hopefully Dublin in the All Ireland final. Deserved to be Dublin anyhow the were by far the better team.

the same ref used for the majority of dublin's championship games, set out his intensions by not carding dublin player early on  for a cynical trip right  under his nose

Incredibly, it will be the first final since 1948 to feature a team from Connacht against a team from Ulster. On that day Cavan beat Mayo by a score of 4-5 to 4-4.

Obviously for many of those years, the provincial winners from those provinces met in the semi-finals every third year but still a long time. Every single final since then has featured at least one team from either Leinster or Munster, except the 2003 final, where Tyrone beat Armagh in the first final to feature 2 teams from the same province.

It must be a long time since Munster was not represented in either the Football or the Hurling final in the same year

Mayo's record in finals is awful, in my time of watching football i think they lost five out of five. Hopefully this time they ll do it but Donegal will take some shifting

any final featuring counties that haven't been to a recent final will put heavy demand on tickets

Donegal had loads at the semi, imagine what demand will be like for the final.

Mayo will feel they have a good chance so they will also turn up in droves.

I'd be shocked if Donegal don't win it. Mayo v Dublin was littered with errors, Donegal are a well oiled machine. Best bet is no goalscorer.
Donegal 16 pts to Mayo's 12 to 14 is the prediction.

If they had the stadium , Sligo would be a good venue for this final .

Delighted to see 2 of our most westerly counties getting to the final , both playing well . Along with Kerry they represent the wettest counties in Ireland I think , and in this the wettest summer in living memory .

Donegal deserve to be favourite , largely on basis of opposition beaten in the run to the final , but I suspect the odds may give a wrong handle as to how the match plays out .

Tickets for finals are always hard to come by , and there will be the usual furious search for tickets the length and breadth of the country . Interesting 3 weeks for those concerned  , connections wise I will have to be in the Mayo camp , but will celebrate with my Donegal connections if the ball hops their way . Cant lose that way .  Could be a very good game .
