He ain't the first claimer to ride a double either. Thought it was a new jockey when I saw Hoborn Happy

I take it all back here was i thinking you were the stupidest poster on here when you are skitting all the time.
Saying Muslims are good to their women because they don`t let them work or drive
Not understanding what 10/11 each of two meant
Saying there were no chases at Punchestown and following it up with the La Touche is not a chase its a bank race.
Now saying remember the name you heard it here first and getting the name wrong.

you are different class.
Report Rocketfingers August 8, 2012 9:55 PM BST
Sorry lads typo, typed it when a friend rang and could not get her off the phone. Anyway i know one or two people may have heard of him but lots would never know this kid exists before tonight, i thought he was class, really taken by the lad. Btw does this mean that Simply Perfect was talking about another jock? Happy

Report Rocketfingers August 8, 2012 10:13 PM BST
Look lads ignore the thread, i seen this lad tonight, really impressed. No biggie just ignore or BF might close it if people think it's that bad. But the one thing i can say for certain well over 90% of this forum have never head of this lad until today or until now and this thread.

'heard'
Report Bassanio August 8, 2012 10:20 PM BST
The lad has ridden a number of winners now including a win at Galway last week and has done well at Dundalk all year. I would say that this was another typo and 90% of the forum had heard of him and the others are users that are no longer active.

rocket tbf , i think he was castigated by someone a while back when he was riding for m halford ...
Report Rocketfingers August 8, 2012 10:33 PM BST
To be fair lads never ever seen a thread about the kid, now everyone is claiming they know him, knows he is class and actually now have already had a pop at him for his riding, you could not make it up about some of the people on here. Grow up, i may not get to as many meeting as i used to be i know talent that maybe has a way to go but nevertheless is talent. If there is another thread about this young jock bring it up otherwise let it go, half of you would not know one end of a horse from the other, nevermind a up and coming jockey.
Report Rocketfingers August 8, 2012 10:40 PM BST
Right just leave it at that i can't be bothered arguing with other people. If you've heard of him you've heard of him. But we're a great bunch of it know it all's on this forum at times is all i'm saying.

Oh Sweet jebus, Where did i say i was getting on well with any lady? I just said there was one very nice girl there i knew, i think she has a boyfriend now, still pulls the auld heart strings when you see them again though richters. Anyway i have do work on my machine the band was a tribute band to Johnny Cash if you must know, now i think that proves i was at Sligo. Enough of this nonsense please and let's all grow up a little, it's boring that you can't start a thread without all the haters coming on and giving a person abuse.

Any jockey can win 'a' big race, to be fair i think it's really just been in the last couple fo weeks this lad has come on leaps and bounds and that's why he flown under the radar of so many.

PMSL! This is his fifth season riding, he was one of the favourites for champion apprentice this season. You'd have to have been gagged and bound for the last few years not to know who Conor Hoban is!
Report Sligored August 9, 2012 9:25 AM BST
rocket is just saying he is a good jockey - some people may not have noticed - grow up lads. ffs
Report Distant View August 9, 2012 10:31 AM BST
Nothing wrong with saying he thinks he is a fine rider.

It is the "you heard the name first" that I am sure annoys people, when the lad has been on the scene for an age now and anyone watching and betting on Irish racing on a semi-regular basis would be very familiar with him.

Interesting to see whether he right about going all the way to the top though. Many apprentices have looked excellent at Galway and around this time of the year in the past. This includes Queally when he rode 2 winners in Galway years ago. It also included Rory Cleary, Padraig Beggy etc and they never really broke through in the manner that seemed likely.

I would not say Queally is right at the top of the tree either. He is a decent jockey and after a few quiet years, he got that little bit of luck that any young jockey needs and joined the Cecil team just when a few good horses were starting to emerge from the stable again. Frankel has obviously put him right in the limelight and he is doing his job well now after some terrible rides such as Ascot last year. Whether is right at the top of the ladder in terms of jockeys is very debatable though, but you cannot knock where he is now.
Report Rocketfingers August 9, 2012 11:58 AM BST
To be fair DV i'd say most people well over 80 to 85% of people never heard of him or passed no heed to him because he was not riding their fav horse or the horse that they bet on. As i said i don't bet on horses that much but i know talent. Anyway i'm going back there today.
Report wildmanfromborneo August 9, 2012 12:11 PM BST
There are two ways of looking at Rocketfingers,he is either a genius or a sad dope.
The reason for this thread was to keep up the pretence that he is from Sligo,GANT is tired catching him out,he is a Dub with a limited vocabulary. He is childlike in actions and words, his calling of trainers Meadey,Weldy and adding a y on to other words his use of the word dude and juderino, his inability to follow posts and his constant mistakes make you feel sorry for him. After a few jousts I had with him he asks can we be friends in a way that takes you back to your schooldays. His Walter Mitty like character is shown by his pretence to be travelling the world and his huge wagering on the Asian markets, his constant efforts to introduce some female company into his posts are the actions of a lonely misfit.
The more unlikely scenario is the man is a genius and has been winding up the forum for years, the mistakes are all deliberate the misspellings are also deliberate, when I said doubt if he had ever heard of W.B.Yeats he spelt it Yates later he complained that he never misspelt his name he did it twice more, his contention you can get 100 grand on a league of Ireland match could be pure genius.
Dope or Genius, for me it's the former.

Lads is was a thread about an up and coming jockey, now wildman has just performed some sort of Psychoanalysis of me. It's not that important to me, i just thought some of you horse racing gamblers would like to have heard about this lad. If you've heard of him great, if not, you have now.

Wildmanfromborneo btw, you're far from the literacy genius you make yourself out to be, as for grammatical mistakes, please read through your last post again and then correct.
Report GANT007 August 9, 2012 12:54 PM BST
To be fair I understand where rocketfingers is coming from......People who follow racing will know about Conor Hoban for years and someone seeing him for the first time might get carried away......he is a fine rider.
Minority sports do this to the untrained eye......take league of Ireland soccer and greyhound racing as an example.......Lads attending a match for the first time might spot a player having a blinder and reckon he could make it in England only to find out he is after coming back from there.........People who don't go greyhound racing see a pup winning by 10 lenghts and think he is a derby dog but the time says 30 seconds and he is really a a5/a6 dog........It's easy to get carried away about things you know little about.
Report Rocketfingers August 9, 2012 12:59 PM BST
To be fair gant soccer would hardly be a minority sport? I'm not doubting you in Meath yes of course it is, like all sports bar Gaelic football, but in other places it's the most played and watched sport.

Lads he's not a top rider, he's an up a coming jockey. If he had rode a double at Sligo and i never heard of him you could point fingers maybe, but you can't. I'm going today hopefully we'll have a Sligo trainder winner but maybe he won't be at Sligo Wink
Report wildmanfromborneo August 9, 2012 2:09 PM BST
I will give you this, you are an unlucky so and so.In order to keep up the pretence that you are from Sligo you make this post, first you misspell the jockeys name secondly you are out of luck in that the jockey that rides the double just happens to be from the area I didn't know that but if as you claim you were from Sligo you certainly would, how many jockeys hail from that area, few yet the hapless Rocketfingers lands on him, unlucky very unlucky.
