The standard of judging has been a travesty at this Olympics, there is no guarantee at all that the best boxer will be awarded the fight so for the hard nosed layers who don`t allow sentiment enter their calculations, only one course of action.....lay.

shocker in light heavy-gb fighter against cuban, didn't see agogo. love the way bbc analysts and commentators make no reference to it. nearly convince you result was correct!
Report ilikewavingatbuses August 2, 2012 11:24 PM BST
just watched agogo, pathetic, absolutely disgraceful!

what about yer man knocked down 6 times in one round and still won, he was a mixture of bambi on ice and amir khan after a swift jab, no matter , he wonLaugh

Bad judging decisions can only favour Taylor who will be the home town girl after the British girl gets knocked out.

I'd rather be on her that Queen Underwood in a tight decision with these judges thats for sure

you know something is up when the British gymnastic team wins a medal, last achieved 100 years ago?.

Ref the Agogo fight, the first 2 rounds were close but the Ukrainian lorded the final round, must have landed about 12 clean shots, travesty, but stand by for some more shocking decisions and boxing unfortunately will be to the forefront as usual, probably the most bent sport ever?, no matter what they do with the scoring system they can't seem to rid themselves of corrupt judging.

silvergreaser, are you saying that bad judging is throughout the games or just in the boxing. I haven't seen it anywhere else although the Japanese appealed and were put back from 4th to 2nd. Thought the GB mens were deserved of their medal.

Look at how thorough the cycling judges have been on the track yesterday. No margin of error. If so, you're out. Probably the two best teams, China Women and GB women demoted/disqualified. Germany lucky winners, third best team.

Until yesterday the boxing seemed alright judging wise with just the odd round score disputed but overall results seemed fair, let's hope there's a judges meeting or something to tell them to get their act together.

Gymnastics had been notorious down the years, thats why they radically overhauled their scoring system, still not foolproof but a damn sight better than the time when all judges would dish out perfect 10's, when its virtually impossible to have a flawless routine or apparatus.

The cycling judges were just using the video evidence so nobody can complain, maybe boxing could do the same and have independent judges to watch video evidence for contentious fights like the Agogo one yesterday, its been notable than many landed punches are not be scored in a host of fights.

Weightlifting is a little dodgy too, on many occasions you'll have 2 judges giving the green light and the other giving a no lift, when it was quite clear that the bar was still moving above the lifters head, it should've been a no lift all round.
The tv evidence doesn't lie!.

The more we see of TV reviews in all sports , the more we learn . Much more objective than the actions of referees and officials , but they are doing it in real time , which is much harder .

Cannot see why any sport cannot avail of suitable technology ( soccer for example ) provided it does not screw up the pace of the activity unduly .

Great thread -nothing like getting your retaliation in first to create your impregnable position .
Katie wins =best boxer
Katie loses =dodgy judges.
Classic win/win ,eh ? Laugh

Most sport makes me sick nowadays  -it's thoroughly polluted and its fundamental values have been trampled into the gutter.
Is there any perversion we haven't had ? Women who are men , drugs , fixing , playing to lose , hothousing kids virtually from the cradle ....all for what ?
Report silvergreaser August 3, 2012 12:35 PM BST
kelly we do be watching it in real time just like the judges, once an objection is submitted then an independent adjudicator should be called to review the video evidence.
