The great Walter Haefner from Switzerland. has passed away aged 101.
Started the Moyglare stud in Ireland at the prompting of Stan Cosgrave because he could see that Ireland was the best place you could set up  bloodstock shop.
Bred a string of superb top-grade horses over four decades which Dermot Weld steered to international success.
Great news that his daughter Eva will carry on the operation.
His colours will be carried this w/end by Speaking Of Which in the Irish Derby and Princess Highway in the Irish oaks on July 22.
