Anybody that thinks Italy are a good bet at 1.33 should give the game up.
Like saying i'd back Frankel at 1.05 cos he'll piss up. Absolutely no concept of value. |

the market has formed an opinion.at the moment its says its 3 times more likely that italy will win than any other result..value is what it is.if you think italy are a stupid price lay them.you will get 100/30 any other result.
By:
i hope we get fooking destroy, disgraceful selection, shouldve given the younger lads a game.

kavvie, the market made Italy a 1.31 chance last night. Currently it makes them a 1.39 chance. I believe a reassessment is taking place as there is a growing realisation among non-Irish bettors that Ireland, and their management, will be giving 100% (or 110% if you were listening to Robbie yeasterday).
By:
On the assumption that we were already giving 100% in the first 2 games but were just atrocious, I don't think laying the 1.39 is worth it.

Once again the old chesnut "value" raises its head, I have never found value in a losing bet.
Italy have always been a top team.Always have been up there as one of the favs to win these tournies. The price is wrong. I would compare it to Man Utd., v Bolton, WBA, Wigan. Italy should be 1/8. Ok no home advantage so slightly better odds, 1/6. Sometimes there are freak results, but this will hardly be one. |
By:
db, every gambler has to make their own call regarding the price. Yes, Ireland were giving 100% in the opening 2 games and played poorly. Tonight the pressure on the team will be substantially less but the motivation will be just as great to get a result. That, and not conceding in the first 5 minutes, can make the difference. The price last night and still currently does not reflect that.
I take the FIFA World rankings with a grain or two of salt but you have to have some respect for them. Pre tournament they had Italy at 12 and Ireland at 18. That counts for something. Jay Trump, you mention "home" advantage - that's another reason for betting on Ireland/laying Italy. I wouldn't be surprised to see and hear a lot more support for Ireland in the stadium. |
By:
An Ireland win is worth 2 million to the FAI also - 1 million for the win and 1 million for third place in group.
By:
Italy out to 1.44 now.
Are they only playing with 10 men ? |
By:
get on!!

By:
No I have never heard of Black Caviar.

By:
I,m not a big football head at all but if you fancied the Italians to in easily(i do),wouldn,t the near 6/5 ht/ft be a better bet than the 4/9?

This kind of passion bring out the goose pimples in me, players should be made watch this tonight before they take the pitch it's raw emotion. The players need to left the fans tonight who will be downbeat after the Monaghan news earlier on today.

i am putting my eggs into the one basket on this game and taking the view that this will be a close game during the opening quarter. i think italy tired in the final quarter v croatia and they mmay try to pace themselves. our lads have nothing to lose, though they will be hellbent on not conceding early. so i have laid at 5.2 the first goal in the 0-10 range, topped up with under 2.5 goals at 2.2, to lay off at 1.95 if 0-0 after 15 mins, and also laid italy, again if 0-0 after 15 mins it they will be near the 1.55 mark and lay off. i also laid under 1.5 at 1.26, again will hit 1.36 if scoreless after 15 for another bloodless trade out.

Delaney is an utter clown, he has chairman of the FAI has been on the piss for the last two weeks. Monaghan United are going under while he is out in Poland. What does he do to get his €400,000 a year?
By:
He was on 450k before he kindly took a cut. Outrageous scenes in the domestic league.

Well consider i go to most Ireland away games and you've hate the sport i would have a better idea than you. It's just the soccer family, we're hurting after the news today expect the Irish soccer family to always stick together gant, you are somehow looking to divide us, even in your warped mind that's strange.
By:
Is Tardeli older than Trapatoni ?
By:
Divide you from who?..........

By:
Shay Given should have done the decent thing and told Trapp, nah don't pick me i'm finished give the kids a chance
By:
Disappointed in Shay Given.
He's badly let himself and his country down. He's clearly unfit and has been a complete and utter comedy of errors in every single match at the Euros. Won't even comment on Glen Whelan's crossfield ball, as the bloke is just hopeless. |
By:
Trappatoni is the joke for picking these players!!!
There is much better at home and on the bench!!! Fupping Italian fupper!!! |
By:
He should replace Given at half time because the Irish goals are going to be peppered the 2nd half...Grow a pair Trapp and tell him ''You're no longer in Ireland's plans'' & say to yourself "Neither am i" ..Glenn Whelan..you may's well have Marty
By:
Well its the old boy's club all over again
Keane allows duff captaincy, for probably his last game for his country, well you dont do this in competitive games Keane is no way near fit slow as a boat. Dunne is no way near fit, as big as a bus. Given is gone at the game and Man City saw this early, wouldn't stop a rolling pot To complete the old timers log Trap+Tardeli both as old as T (gant's T) ![]() Thanks be to the LORD for the GAA |
By:
Just seen the goal again. Given made 3 mistakes in one minute. Unbelievable for a great servant for Ireland but too many mistakes this past 2 games and Trapp still can't see Given isn't fit.
By:
![]() Coral @Coral Aston Villa are currently 6/1 for relegation. We'll have to slash them if Shay Given stays |
