Anybody know what the story is with Wading?
and also apollo? last i heard was Wading was been aimed at the irish oaks,not sure if thats 100% true though, and haven't heard a thing about apollo since he won his maiden quite impressively at the Curragh last season, i see he has an entry in the irish Derby on the Rp website though. |

Its a cert that APOB will beat Sir Henrys Ascot record but i doubt he will ever have that bit of class that Cecil has.I suppose as the song goes you either have it or you dont.My favorite trainer of all.

So Henry is not a hands on trainer and Frankel doesn't seem to go any slower in fact he seems to be getting faster, Aiden the meticulous hands on I think I'm God trainer didn't seem to make Fame and Glory go any faster by been so meticulous? in fact the horse went an awful lot slower.
Moral of the story once again, good horses make good trainers!. |

Maybe it was a factor wildman, but so far was he beaten it would stretch the imagination to think he'd have won even with better ground, but of course I'm just making the point I always make, O'Brien can saddle his 8 runners in a race all by himself and he still won't make them go any faster!.

But he does make them go faster because of his attention to detail,he trains them to peak at specific times.One thing i have learned is you can never rule out any of his horses,they can run so bad that you mark them down as useless and then they pop up running way over their form.Homecoming Queen and Ishvana are the most recent ones.

I'm sure he trained Fame and Glory to peak today wildman? and if he thought the ground was going to be a problem he'd have pulled him out, in fact they couldn't get enough money on the horse?.
All trainers train horses to peak for certain races, its hardly a novel idea?, its been around since horse racing began. |

I think there are few trainers that the camera is as kind to as Cecil, it's an unfair comparison really as his presence, looks and regal countenance set him apart

Neill d, Henry doesn't feel the need to saddle his horses, his experienced staff can do such a simple job, its called trust, but "god" insists he wants to saddle everyone of his, suggests the guy is mentally unstable, thinks he's god or doesn't trust his very experienced staff, take your pick?. |

Might just be something to occupy him in the run up to the race, puts him at ease and make him forget a little the pressure he is under. Maybe he is just wary of slipped saddles

They are as near to not trying as you can get in their prep races leaving them to peak for their main target.
There was a filly called Dibidale i think trained by Barry Hills and ridden by Willie Carson whose saddle slipped in the Oaks a certainty beat,thats not going to happen to him. Who is John Mullane? |

Waterford corner forward complaining there on RTE 2 there a minute ago about something Davy fitz, the Clare manager and ex Clare goalie might or might not have said about him before the Clare and waterford game last week. Apparently it was that Mullane was 'finished'. Which he plainly isn't but he was on there moaning about it. They only scraped past a very young Clare team there, i'd have thought he'd have other things to be talking about, must be very thin skinned.

Which is a shame wildman, well above average 2yo's campaigned as if they'd be lucky to win a seller at Southwell only to be backed off the boards, up their proverbial ass when they tried it with Parliament Square at Ascot not beaten far just out of the frame but its called karma, and Fame and Glory getting beat today was even more Karma.
The one that was backed off the boards tonight beaten 13+L on its debut should be investigated, its not normal improvement its effing astonishing improvement and people still think this rancid operation is the best thing to happen to Irish racing, I despair sometimes!. |

The Vintage Crop was a very though race this year the horse was sent for home over 5 furlongs out. It can take horses a long time to get over hard races @ Navan

That John Mullane.Very unpopular on this forum but a great hurler.
Fame And Glory had only that race in the whole year so should be able to handle it,i thought Joseph was both brilliant and canny on him that day. |

believe me heisenberg they left loads to work on after Navan.in fact don't forget Fame and Glory finished r/up twice to Sea The Stars, the horse should be winning the Navan race without coming off the bridle.

Averaging 5 points per game playing in Munster while not being a free taker is astonishing, top class hurler indeed. He probably finds more of the bridle than your Corbett, but then Lar is that bit classier a hurler I'd have said.
