I THINK Tyrone will have their hands full with Kildare... Tyrone missing justin mcmahon, martin penrose , ronan oneil and kyle coney...think Kildare are massive value

Q....What do you call a Mayo man with an All Ireland medal?
A....A transvestite!

It was a dirty enough game and it nearly all came from the one side. (There were also players from both sides feigning and exaggerating contact to the head as well which was not good to see) I felt Cork lucky not to have been a man down before half time and off the ball hits and the 2nd goal resulting from a free wrongly not been awarded to Mayo. Mayo put up with too much of the off the ball niggles from the likes of Cadogan and O'Leary and would have been better leveling a few of them

It's a young Mayo side who shouldn't be tarred with the near misses of old. At this stage they are an ok to very good side with some exciting players but championship finals talk is about 2 years away. The Mayo near misses of recent were a good team reliant on the excellent Ciaran McDonald and when McDonald didn't fire the rest just weren't at the standard of the Kerry's of this world. Two of McDonald's worst performances were All Ireland finals.

cork will be hard stop if they can remain relativly injury free..
Report squigs April 29, 2012 10:20 PM BST
Yeah particularly in the forwards the injuries killed them last year. First Half they looked poor but they raised the physicality second ha

yre talking nonsense sq.dirty, off the ball, unlucky?always the same excuses.did u ever hear a kerry or dublin player coming out with such drivel after a defeat.they wud be ashamed to come out with such shte,to them the physical exchanges is irrellavant, they say bring it on and still play the game the way it sud be played.
Report wildmanfromborneo April 29, 2012 11:11 PM BST
Kingrat having read your contributions on the Racing Forum its fair to say you are well named.
Report squigs April 29, 2012 11:27 PM BST
No, the above are champion sides. Mayo are not. You don't see the likes of Dublin or Kerry bullied.

Kerry put down their defeat to Mayo to missing one player who was suffering from the flu.
But speaking of Dublin they had a similarly poor second half against Cork in the league last year and look where they ended up.

Mayo like Kildare are also prone to freezing once the physicality comes out and the Dublins Kerrys and Corks of this world know that.
Some good league performances shouldn't hide anyone from the truth. They are arguably the sixth best team in the country They are behind the big 3, Kildare and probably Tyrone as well.

The result was not unlucky and I never stated that the second half was comprehensive. But I do believe Mayo have come on and that the championship will show this. I suspect you haven't watched the game but your viewpoints are based on previous Mayo sides.
Report squigs April 29, 2012 11:40 PM BST
Re Kerry not complaining about physicality.

I dreamed up all the near annual complaints over puke football if any team playing Kerry comes from North of Sligo.
Report Bassanio April 29, 2012 11:43 PM BST
There has never been a side that whinged more after a defeat than the Kerry side after the 2003 semi final. They were not even beaten with physicality, but were simply trounced from a tactical point of view.
Report wildmanfromborneo April 29, 2012 11:48 PM BST
Armagh are the king whingers weren`t they all called nasty names by big bullies from Westmeath so much so that one poor Armagh player was so traumatised he had to slyly kick the offender before running in tears to the dressing room.

Do you mean Laois Wildman?
Report wildmanfromborneo April 30, 2012 12:10 AM BST
Yes i mean Laois and the unfortunate Ciaran McKeever was the one traumatised.

i backed mayo sqs and traded out at half time and made a tidy profit.my oppinion on this mayo side is the same as previous mayo teams, they will fold like a cheap deck chair when the pressure is on .horan will get the blame and then get shafted, the same old bullsht !
Report squigs April 30, 2012 1:20 AM BST
