I'm currently looking for a prospective 3mile chaser for the future and have been studying the forthcoming Brightwells sale at Cheltenham laterthis month. As you can imagine its full of Irish pointers the majority with winning form. From my view I have no idea what represents strong Point form in IRELAND. I was hoping some of you guys could point me in the direction of in your opinion what tracks normally would constitute strong form as far as you would be concerned. My budget is approx 20-25k and I know I wouldnt be able to purchase the cream for that but would that sort of budget buy something decent, preferably 5-6yo with not huge mileage on the clock. Many Thanks
Dont waste your time Midas7,these pointing vultures will eat you up.Every horse that wins a maiden is worth a quarter of a million in their eyes, they wouldnt sell you a virus for the kind of money you are talking about.Sunday after sunday its the same old rigmarole,a machine or sometimes two is unearthed and at the moment they seem to be able to find victims.Stay away from Irish point to points would be my advice to you,not unless you want to be buggered.

Appreciate your candour, I understand completely what you say and to be honest I often feel that the French offer better value for money (its like everything in this game) but coming from Scotland its not exactly a hop skip and a jump over there to try and source something, I would be interested if for future reference you could suggest point tracks where you feel there can be quality on show,or is it a hit and a miss which venue to look at the form and think its sound form!! many thanks

Buy an unbroken 3yo at goffs or tatts.....leave him in Ireland to be broken and run in a point as a 4yo.........take him over to scotland after that.........it's a gamble either way but less chace of being codded.
