After the last race disaster of regal tramp in Lep the other day, i'm once again looking at the last race this eve to recover losses. Its a poor race, as befits the ratings, however i think that there may be better to come from Peggarty. Only 4 runs to date, 3 of which were over a relatively short period of time to get a mark. Given a break of approx 6 weeks she then came out and ran reasonably well to finish 5th lto. Dropped 2lbs since (surprisingly imv) she is nicely drawn this eve to hold the rail position and race prominently, she should have the run of the race if breaking on terms. A couple of the reserves would be dangerous if getting a run, whilst jockey booking for try freedom catches the eye. However given how unexposed Peggarty is i will be having a go with her.

A few to back and lay tonight.
Not as much movement in the prices today as compared to the last two nights. No doubt due to all the recent racing on the sand.
Race 1) Gathering Power a lay at 2.24 Verbal honesty a back at 6 ( Didn't check result yet.
Race 2) Akasake a lay at 2.58 Tried to back Basitleir at 6. No takers.
Race 3) Sharalam a lay at 3.2 Opa Loca backed at 4.5
Race 4) Exhortation a lay at 2.2 An Cat Dubh backed at 7
Race 5) Further Proof was a lay at 4.5 Kanes Pass backed at 5.78 after reduction. FP was all the rage (4/1 into 2/1). No doubt the word was out and another day will be tried.
Race 6) Charismas Birthday a lay at 4.2 Tsar Paul backed at 11
Race 7) Peggarty a lay at 5 Waterloo Prince tried to back at 7.8 The value has gone on Peggarty at 4/1 imo Pull Hard.

With Johnny Murtagh banned tonight, Keagan Latham's name crossed my mind. Sight nor sound of him coming back this year.

shes gone in at 12/1 at laytown and followed up at 8/1 at listowel at todays trip so no worries theres no money for her
she ran well off her revised mark of 67 being beaten just 3/4l in a 15 runner field next time before a respectable show over 5
i´d expect her to jump to the front and try to make all

Not a guesser at all,gave a well thought out reasoned post which turned out correct as the money piled on it,horse did not run well but you can`t fault his thinking.

im only messin pull....got stung badly with the 2 said horses but had them backed b4 i saw ur post.....dat was a poor run for a well backed 2/1 fav......ye fancy anyfin navan 2mora?
Bad horses in bad races Pull Hard, its so difficult to get an edge, I have often thought I had a reasoned argument for backing one and run like a drain, only to come out 7 days later and hose up. And before anyone (silvergreaser) starts shouting conspiracy, its just a limited horse running well one night and badly the next.
Although the way Peggarty went out like a light last night, either the horse had an issue or is no good, never travelled well through out and perhaps needs a bit more cover, who knows.....all will be revealed in time I suppose. But would take a leap to back again after that 'effort'
