Good interview with jpob last sundays times with david walsh. The dressage helped jpob in a big way.

But switching his whip on Camelot was something of pure class and beauty.

Of course he is no Lester just pulling the leg lads but he is sensational for a 19 year old.

The comparison is well made and valid,both are tall and long legged,both look similar at their respective ages,both are sons of racehorse trainers,both have ridden Epsom Derby winners while teenagers,both have great racing brains where they differ is Joseph probably won`t be able to control his weight and probably won`t scale the heights of Lester.

I backed Imperial Monarch and I am furious that he lost, but I cant blame the jockey because he did a great job early on had him tucked in on the rail getting cover and had him in a fine position if the gaps opened.

What happened was that there was no pace, which led to massive bunching around the turn and basically the horses on the outside came in on top of the ones on the inner starting a effect that chopped off every horse on the inside that had been well placed. Such is the complete farce French Racing at the highest level is these days it can not be a suprise that once again they want to make the race into some sort of 4f sprint.

All the others jockeys were in a similar scenario as young O Brien and that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Best horse lost I can't argue and maybe he was a bit innocent not to think trouble was going to come but at the end of the day as is life not everything goes to plan.

A very unsatisfactory race for all concerned and the Prix Du Jockey Club status as a Premier Classic 3yr old race is on the wane big time.
