Went to the Connacht match and just a shocking crowd. I like my GAA as much as the next man but this comp is shocking for getting people out. The gaa is a tribal thing and people don't care about Quality or else there would be massive crowds at this & to see the best players playing !

Agree Rocketfingers.

For starters the effort put in to promotion etc for these games is abysmal.

personally i wouldnt go to a inter-pro match as i never had a big identification with the province, Leinster in my case. In a GAA context. Although i wouldnt be a fan of leinster rugby either

This comp would be dead without the efforts of a certain businessman, fair play to him, cant think of his name right now

I understand in years gone by massive crowds would attend these games. There is a picture in the Indo today of one spectator who had a whole terrace to himself, dunno which match it was

i suppose theres nowhere to go when even diehard GAA people dont want to attend

Competition died a death with the growing influence of tv and the moving of the club finals to St Patricks day. Was a huge event decades ago but should be scrapped at this stage.

It is there as much for the inter county players themselves who enjoy competing in it, rather than the wider GAA public, the time slot is poor, but they could probably put it anywhere and it wouldn't attract people. Commercial viability isn't the be all.
