Couldn't have Arucaria the way she jumped the last day, altho she shud improve. Geraghty looks as though he's gone all the way to Donny to ride Shakalakaboomboom when he could have had 4/5 good rides at Leop Happy
Report Fayzer January 28, 2012 12:00 PM GMT
CoM would he not have to do as he is bid on a saturday, it would seem from his blog on ATR that he is wishing to be in cheltenham to ride Broadbackbob....no mention of Leapardstown.
Report Fayzer January 28, 2012 12:15 PM GMT
anyway the hurdle race is wide open, that is unless byrnes horse makes an ejit of the handicapper....in the event that he doesnt, Ill take a chance on tawaagg at 40/1. Townend's decision to ride the horse looks significant, I can remember willie saying a few months back before a run at the curragh that he felt the horse had strengthed up quite a bit. Placed 2nd in the race before off a 5lb lower mark but with a little bit of luck in running (which you always need in this race) he might nick a place. Obviously recent form pretty poor but maybe this was on willies mind for a while, seeing as the horse went close before.

You could well be right, but if he wanted to go to Cheltenham, then his booking on Shakalakaboomboom may be even more significant.
Report Allduckornodinner January 28, 2012 12:19 PM GMT
I was thinking the same thing Fayzer. He obviously has a bit to prove on recent form but what horse doesn't at those kind of prices. I don't think it's a great renewal of the race and at his best Tawaag should be less than half his current price.
Report Fayzer January 28, 2012 12:25 PM GMT
Allduck is the type of horse/price I would rather take a chance on in a race like this.

Your right there Norn Iron.

I only met Workrider for the first time at the xmas meeting.

He was in the Dublin Racing club suite at the Leop on Saturday. He showed me his winning docket on Sir Des Champs and advised me to have a few bob on Colbert Station in the 6th race.

I was waiting on €192 for a €6 jackpot ticket banking on Far Away So Close. I didn't even consider Colbert Station but after chatting to WR, backed CS at 14/1 and layed FASC resulting in a £90 profit in that race.

Cheers WR, I owe you a cuppa next time I see you. Grin

Must be time for workrider to come back now soon, his contributions on racing are missed and it looks like the lads have settled up on the thread about Irish Racing's integrity.
Report ReimerpYsatnaf January 30, 2012 8:14 PM GMT
The only ones who say anything bad against workrider are those who have not met him, doubt you'll see him back neill d to be honest
Report neill d January 30, 2012 8:27 PM GMT
Connection went there and lost what I typed.

Maybe he might come back when the flat starts, with the early starts at the minute there isn't as much time for study before racing.

I gather he is doing exceptionally well from the thrust of the other threads, hopefully he might come back anyway because I got a few grand tips from him, especially on the flat. Tell him I was asking for him to come back anyway sure, could be petition timeLaugh
