The robot that made the error in the Voler La Vedette affair was either Betfairs or Ladbrooks as they would be the only ones to have unlimited credit.I accept it was an error and a big one at that but as all on here must pay for their mistakes so should they,remember these robots have been cleaning up for years.One thing i would bet my life blood on is if Voler La Vedette failed to stay and got beaten there would not have been a word,the money would have remained in the robots account.
Once a bet is accepted that should be that bookmakers have for years robbed people by voiding late bets,this is wrong as the punter has a bet that can only lose,if the horse wins he gets his money back but if it loses he just walks away.
The palpable error rule is also open to abuse,a bookmaker doesn`t fancy Big Bucks goes 3/1 takes in his fill,if it loses a brave man who backed his judgement but if it wins they get paid the S.P.which is usually the lowest price so he got all this extra business and at the same time minimised his risk.

You have no idea what you're talking about and making mad guesses.
It was a bot that went wrong. Betfair have stated that. Their is no way they are going to lie about this one. Its probably going to end up in court this one so they just can't lie. Weather they are liable is another thing.
If my computer blows a fuse and puts up duff bets for me I have to live with it . Tough they would say if I phoned up .
Provided the error which obviously occurred can be proven to be coming from somone outside of betfair I have no problem with them making "adjustments " in the win market which relfect fairness to all , including those who laid losers and have not been paid .
Until then , its up in the air .
