I assume he will,Murphy knows Geraghty will b opting for Finians Rainbow in QM.
Probably wants a jockey to familiarise himself with BZ.

any opinions?

I think if Barry Geraghty is available he rides, not so sure Geraghty would pick Finians Rainbow.
Barry Geraghty seems to have an easy going relationship with Henderson so will let him choose,Murphy can be ruthless remember his treatment of Barry Cash.

What did he do to Barry Cash wildman?

I know he replaced him with McCoy after falling in the Aintree Hrudle for the Punchestown Festival where he beat Harchibald and then AP kept the ride for the next season ending with winning the Champion Hurdle. I thought AP and Brave Inca where made for each other.

He didn`t really do anything wrong on Barry Cash, just jocked him off which is his right.Cash was very disappointed as he felt he had done everything right on Brave Inca including coming out the right side of 2 photos,my point is Murphy is well able to make hard decisions.

Robbie Power I assume would be only an option. A perfectly adequate one at that.

He was appalling on Steps to Freedom at Cheltenham earlier this month.

Wouldn't ride a rocking horse...

Cah was jocked off by the owners not by murphy, mc coy said in his book he wouldnt ride for them ever again"too many know alls in that syndicate"
Report wildmanfromborneo November 25, 2011 8:36 PM GMT
The syndicate were musing over who would be the replacement and they set out their requirements, must be a sympathetic rider, must be easy on the horse and never give him a hard race.
I am glad there was no market on it because i had it narrowed to 2 Ruby Walsh and Timmy Murphy,i ruled out McCoy because i felt he would give him plenty of hard races and would half kill him to win a Champion Hurdle, very surprised when he eventually got the nod.

They wanted a sympathetic rider who must be easy on him and never give him a hard race Confused Brave Inca was one tough bugger who responded brilliantly to the jockey urgeings. He must of been one of the toughest horses in the last 10 years or so.

You have a horse who needs plenty or pushing alone over hurdles and keeps responding surely it's obvious where to go and they came to the correct decision in the end, baffling to me if that is what connections wanted.

Not doubting what you said to be true but it just baffles me.

It baffled me at the time as well and like you say it worked out brilliantly for them.I think the women in the syndicate may have made those stipulations and yourlack states that McCoy may not have got on with them, probably correct.

one of the syndicate was an investment manager in now state-owned asset manager...

a sharp mind indeed...

He was a noble horse i remember spotting him not off in a maiden hurdle and noted him for the future,he then did it again so i waited for his going day, won a bumper at 25/1 in fairyhouse and followed it up in Navan,he never carried any of my money.
