Honestly think LAST INSTALMENT will be far too good for these,
trip & ground perfect, jumped superbly last time against a decent horse in Alpha Ridge, 3rd horse, 30L away...best chase form in this field,
wouldnt need to improve on that to win this imo of course.
Report downallstar November 20, 2011 12:07 PM GMT
Pittoni @ 9/4 only bet of the day.

Aye JayTrump it was an easy enough introduction alright, the money either for or against will be interesting seeing as they (CB) have a couple going earlier.

So Young jumping looked awful there....needs a good schooling session if he is to win some of those big prizes this year.
Report punchestown November 20, 2011 12:49 PM GMT
I was impressed with Last Instalment's last run and I think will hopefully outstay Donnas Palm.

That was a spectacular round of jumping for a novice,I thought they had gone a breakneck pace so the form of that race looks solid.

fancy pittoni-he's a more realistic price now too considering he's ground to make up with thousand stars.in saying that the drift doesn't inspire confidence considering connections.looks like they fancy our vinnie more.

Some move for the fav here,Donnas Palm friendless.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle November 20, 2011 1:48 PM GMT
Form worthless I would have thought but was a great round of jumping.
Report punchestown November 20, 2011 1:52 PM GMT
Bar the second last where he took off a fraction early it was a good round,I think the form might be a bit better than you think ruby.

Report punchestown November 20, 2011 2:17 PM GMT
Fav won fair and square,Ruby paced that well.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle November 20, 2011 2:17 PM GMT
Yes the form will never be turned around. Oscar Wells will need to go over the bigger obstacles. Thousand Stars would be better still over fences the way he jumps!
Report paddy1 November 20, 2011 2:18 PM GMT
what can you say about charles byrnes and his horses????
Report punchestown November 20, 2011 2:25 PM GMT
in fairness paddy1,he made a horror mistake at the first flight down the side and was outclassed there today,as was the runner up.
Report limerick November 20, 2011 2:27 PM GMT
byrnes couldn't win a one horse race at the mo
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle November 20, 2011 2:29 PM GMT

Report punchestown November 20, 2011 2:30 PM GMT
WD Premier,I thought that was a solid performance and once again we see today that you have to jump to win these races.
Report paddy1 November 20, 2011 2:32 PM GMT
has a byrnes horse that drifts in the betting ever won??
Report Allduckornodinner November 20, 2011 2:36 PM GMT
He drifted from a ridiculously short ante post price to a more believable price when the pro's latched on to the proven grade one performer from a stable in red hot form. It doesn't take much gumption to figure out why he drifted paddy!!

And yes numerous byrnes horses have drifted and won like any stable.
Report paddy1 November 20, 2011 2:38 PM GMT
allduck......

numerous?
Report ReimerpYsatnaf November 20, 2011 2:44 PM GMT
I don't get why ye are moaning about the performance of Pittoni, he ran a decent race. Thousand Stars was the proven performer with the best form in the book and the others had to improve to beat him and they didn't. As for his A/P price that was just stupidly short.
Report silvergreaser November 20, 2011 2:44 PM GMT
Just like the stable guy who was able to lay thousands who was only paid €400 a week?
Report Newmanix November 20, 2011 3:23 PM GMT
I wouldnt like to have a pitch there todayShocked
Report Allduckornodinner November 20, 2011 3:27 PM GMT
Another Chieftan and Saoirses Chestnut both won bumpers despite drifting last year. Captain Dancer was weakish enough in the betting before bolting up at the junction recently. There's a few off the top of my head.

I'm far from a lover of byrnes and the betting is usually the best pointer concerning his horses but I amazed that anyone cannot figure out why Pittoni drifted today. It ain't rocket science but of course you have people who cannot make up their own mind regarding a race where all the form is on the table and are cribbing afterwards about the the clearly third best horse in the race drifting.
Report paddy1 November 20, 2011 3:31 PM GMT

Just a few points to take out of yesterday's meeing down there.
Before that I must congratulate PF on his 8/1 tipping of Kauto Star on Saturday. How I missed that well reasoned thread I don't know. Of course I ran into a tip for the horse after the race as someone close to the stable was saying that they were real sweet on it. I went for Don's tip Weird Al which was a never threatening third.

1) Great tipping as always on here. Well done all.

2) In the Morgiana Hurdle it was basically 2/1 each of three in the morning. However a bet of €200k on the winner from a well known figure changed the betting completely. As the chap I was watching the race with said waht a masterful ride from Ruby in front.

3) The Byrnes stable. As stated on here stable woefully out of form. On the cold list. A pal of mine said it was hard to back the horse with the way the stable was going.

The meeting was a great success and very well sponsored by Laddies. The on course shop ran out of money. Everyone seemed to be winning with their free €5 bet. I doubled up Dedigout and Make Your Mark with my free bet. So happy days. Mind you I got a nice few quid out of the day as I am a backer most of the time of the jollies.
