People forget O`Rourke was in cabinet during the Haughey years and knew all about the corruption,also a defender of Ray Burke.Both have pensions in excess of a hundred grand.
Mary Hanafin a local girl and the least culpable of them all,remember she and her family were against Haughey.

By Jesus this programme is rancid, biggest shower of aftertiming, resposibility shirking b astards, with there faux sincerity and their big pension thinking they've the standing to exhonerate themselves with their selective recollections. A greater collective shower of c u n ts you'd never see. Do RTE ever break stories? If none of them had any part in the formation of these policies, what exactly were they doing? They were pictured standing next to him often enough, what did they talk about. This is all very wooly and convenient and I'd nearly, nearly feel sorry for Cowan. This is a character assassination, but the guys carrying it out haven't the right.

Mary Hanafin is a horrible individual from the evidence of this.

This series makes Cowen and Lenihan look the only ones willing to make a tough decision. It actually portrays Cowen better.

Martin/Hanafin and the shower on that program disgust me. Hanafin is a disgusting and I know from personal family who has worked with here. O Rouke ugghhh

Cowen at least has kept his counsel and will have may admiration for the way he has handled this political backstabbing by his odious supposed ministers that were complicit with him.

Where were all the high paid advisers,nowhere to be seen proof positive that they are not needed.
The culprits were the bankers who duped Cowen and Lenihan and for being duped they must be blamed.When the high ranking civil servants went into negotiation their sole concern was maintaining their lavish pensions and they were helped by Cowen who was preserving his.

I must say for a Fianna Fail party looking to move on this could haunt them for years. Even by the usual standards of back stabbing and told you so attitude of our politicians this is nasty stuff.
