Just looking for some advice as I know a few here travel over for meetings over course of the flat season. I am there this weekend coming for non-horse related reasons. Firstly I am going to be there Friday when the game is on and was wondering if anybody has any recommendations of where to watch the game. Secondly, any restaurants in the area to recommend or places that do decent pub food not just the re-heated crap you usually get in the UK. Thanks in advance.

Midsummer House in Cambridge sports 2 Michelin Stars. Its about 12 miles from Newmarket.

the Wagon and Horses ( I think) in the town centre . Irish owned .. good racing and sporting pub... sure to be a good atmosphere
