Fairyhouse Racecourse has changed the name of the two-day December meeting featuring three Bar One sponsored Grade 1 Races. The meeting takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December and will now be called the Fairyhouse Premier Jump Racing Weekend.
Peter Roe of Fairyhouse commented: “Previously this meeting was called the Winter Festival. We felt the name did not portray the essence of the weekend. With two Graded races on Saturday and five on Sunday this weekend showcases the best racing this side of Christmas.
"Our aim is to entice racing fans away from the arm chair to the race track. We wanted the new name to reflect the importance and quality of the racing over the weekend”
Marketing for this meeting focuses on the Support Your Sport theme encouraging racing enthusiasts to come racing. From those working in racing offices to the trainer’s family Fairyhouse are calling all those interested in the sport to come and watch it live.
Non-racing activity will highlight the sport and the countryside. The Irish Field will host a Betting Forum before racing and will run a ‘racing meet and greet’ throughout the day.
The countryside will be celebrated with a spectacular falconry display and a hound parade. Adult admission is only €10 on Saturday and €15 on Sunday with under 18’s free.
Fairyhouse encourage those with a passion for the countryside and a love of top class racing to come to Fairyhouse and support this Premier Jump Racing Weekend. Visit www.fairyhouse.ie for all race day information.
