we put derry to the sword tonight ....rovers the champions of all ireland , once again showed their determination to retain their title ...a flowing second half by the champions finally broke derry hearts ...rovers were by far the better team and won in racing parlance, pulling up...some fans will no doubt be anxious to say that its possible for us to lose .. they were last seen walking around th grounds of grangegorman.....chanting ...we're coming to get you ...we're coming coming to get you....we're coming to get you.... doctors are positive this condition can be reversed with time...we wish those fans well in their recovery.....Laugh

Landed on all fours over the last in the back straight and in fairness to ruby he gave the horse a chance to recover and come again.
A good jump at that fence and he could have won by 10 lengths.

he stood a long way off it and jumped it from outside the wings ..i was amazed the way he jumped round ..loved every minute of it ..at galway he was always up there..i thought ruby was a  little out of his ground tbh....he really should have won....

Congrats WR.

Thought we matched ye in the first half but second half once you got the goal you were in control.

Good season for the candystripes though and we have the nucleus of a young local team which can hopefully challenge again next year.

Rovers are worthy champs though.

thanks monte ...very kind of you...great second half from us .i thought derry were a little unlucky not to be ahead at half time ...they play a nice blend of football and kenny is imo a fine manager. a really fine show this season from the young guns..with little or nothing to work on from last season i think ye were the surprise packet of the league..your young players did themselves proud ..i was delighted when farren came on...great to see him back and healthy...  the guy sitting beside me , a big man as well turned to me and said , i can take him off my prayer list ..i was amazed and looked at him waiting for a sarcastic comment...do you know what , he really ment it...i said to him thats really smashing for you to say that..i think he got a little embarrassed ...but he echoed the sentiments of a lot of loi fans....

Some very nice comments there wr and its great to hear.

At the end of the day despite all the rivalry its only a game ( a welcome release from the day to day sh1te we all have to endure).

Your boys still have the europa league to play out whilst I can now concentrate on the NH seasonHappy

Best of luck.

Hi wr sorry for not replying to your post.

Apparently there is a uefa regulation about having three years a/cs but as derry are only a new co. they will get around this apparently.

Problem is that the brandywell might not be allowed to be used as a venue or if it is then only the southend park stand can be used.

monte - not a problem with the brandywell - its just clubs cant leave their debtors up **** creek and then arrive at the top table 2 years later. Derry will be a serious team next year with the mclean money.

Well done again Rovers. I might have been a different story if Sligo had beaten Pats but they couldn't afford any slip ups.  Derry included, they all shot each other in the foot.
Nice of you to notice wmfb and wr that I was missing. Ironic that 2 posters that I've had huge arguments with were the ones.
And you were right unfortunately. My mother passed away. The previous stuff pales into insignificance now.
Just trying to get back to normal starting with a Bohs win today. In hope more than expectation though.

Condolences GS, it doesn't get easier however older you get. All you can do is try to give your own kids the same help in life that you got from your parents.
