after yesterday race dont think so,up against other serial losers,

He doesn't even travel that well in his races anymore, which was his hallmark, only hope is a change of scenery I'd say, hard to disagree that Bolger hasn't messed him up by overracing either, but withg his approach, there are always going to be certain casualties, if given time, he might make a nice sprinter/7 furlong horse for someone, anyone care to put a pricetag on him?
Report workrider September 25, 2011 9:35 PM BST
lucky to get 25,000 for this wonder horse....
Report neill d September 25, 2011 9:42 PM BST
Might be a nice one for people interested in a horse for dubai maybe, he must have a nice mark by now, I'd say you'd reckon he's gone by the sounds of it, but being by the sire he is, one would think it wouldn't be a training on thing would it. Whatever they do now, they should give him a long long break, leave him off for the season. You'd often see only fair horses in claimers for 10k, although at least they aren't defective I suppose, at 25k this fella might be worth chancing, I'd imagine he'll be gelded now anyway so maybe he'll find something for that.
Report workrider September 25, 2011 9:44 PM BST
he could also be a morning glory ..a few of them about....
Report neill d September 25, 2011 9:49 PM BST
yeah, I'd say we never saw what he was showing them at home as that stable punts and they had there fingers burnt by this lad many times, he really does seem to have lost it though, we could even see him over a hurdle at some stage I'd say.
Report workrider September 25, 2011 9:56 PM BST
dont think he'll go down that road tbh...looks to me like he is a little soft for that game....
Report neill d September 25, 2011 10:05 PM BST
I was thinking more Newton Abbot than Leopardstown, but that is where they all end up eventually, I saw a horse of prendergast's now a 6yo Moiqen that won the Ballysax in a maiden hurdle at listowel tailing off at about 66/1, it just vseems wrong that in a way
Report workrider September 25, 2011 10:10 PM BST
some horses never recover from a hard race , and worrying themselves sick thinking about racing...
Report neill d September 25, 2011 10:22 PM BST
That is a good point and there was plenty of oppertunity for that to have happened with this fella, Willie Mullins says he never worries about age, he says it is all about mileage.
Report revedesivola September 25, 2011 10:49 PM BST
thing about glor na mara is that he wont stay 2 miles over hurdles id imagine, i think hed be potentially interesting if he did.

to be fair, if i was a flat horse id sulk until i was considered so sh1t theyd put me over hurdlesLaugh
Report Temlett September 25, 2011 10:58 PM BST
In what way would he be interesting over hurdles? He looks regressive and yesterday confirmed it.

Even if he did stay, I cannot see how he would appeal to anyone.
Report revedesivola September 25, 2011 11:02 PM BST
hurdles often rekindles old spark i think, an extreme change of scenery i suppose!

hurricane fly is a good example i suppose!
Report Newmanix September 25, 2011 11:22 PM BST
i wish i never seen or heard of glor na mara.  expensive horse to follow.Cry
Report neill d September 26, 2011 10:29 AM BST
if garbage 60 odd rated 7f horses can win races over hurdles, it definitely isn't beyond the realms of possibility that GNM could for the reasons that reve outlined, it is a completely different tempo of racing and if he is feeling something, the slower tempo may put him under slightly less pressure, I'd give him a long break now either way.
Report GANT007 September 26, 2011 1:31 PM BST
He would suit a trainer like Malcolm Saunders or Milton Bradley..........Geld him, let him out for a while, sweeten him up and he will win plenty across the water.

^^^^^^^^^agreed

Clearly needs to race on the dirt, ive no doubt if he's sold to race in the U.S he'd win quite a few races,
im actually amazed Bolger hasnt ran him at Dundalk yet, although not dirt,he may take a liking to it,surely its only a matter of time before he tries him on the polytrack at dundalk?
Report workrider September 28, 2011 4:57 PM BST
fair point onthesnaff ..it could turn this fellow inside out....
