remember a few years back when the Autumn / Winter national hunt cards started to kick off around this time of year it used be a licence to print money backing Noel Meade horses up until christmas ..... alas Meade has suffered with a loss of property developer owners in the yard and has seen his string fall back on what it was in the " Celtic Tiger " era .........
Nevertheless he seems to have plenty of good chances at Fairyhouse tomorrow notably with Muirhead whom he quietly fancied in listowel last week prior to withdrawing him on ground conditions , Jakros who easily won his maiden hurdle when last seen in Cork in May and wall street wally who there was word for prior to his run at the galway festival .........

I love that first Punchestown meeting for punting, Sizing Europe, Loosen my load, that grey horse that Cowan owns trained by Meade have come out and won there in recent years at reasonably backable prices, a few get turned pover, but if one reads between the lines like dinglemick says, there's good money to be made imo.

Fair card for National Hunt Enthusiasts..One or two cryptic puzzles a maiden hurdle for those who like to bet the lumpy odds on chances and we have two fascinating conditions hurdle races.
Firstly I think STEPS TO FREEDOM is a 2/9 chance so the 1/3 available is a gift. He's nearly nearly 2/5 on [b]Betfair[/b] just now which is a robbery.This is a serious horse who jumps well and he'd be 1/7 if this were a flat race. He's schooled really well,the stable targeted this race years ago with another smart Bumper Horse CORK ALL STAR. I felt if you like betting short ones this is an ideal one for intrepid odds on chances...

Race 5) Seaside Shuffle 5.7 Will either be 3.5 and hose up or 8.8 and run down the field.
Race 6) Giant Sequoia 3.8 well backed on here at 3.9 and above.
Race 7) Wall Street Wally 4.7 This partnership not the force of old.

3 jollys out of 5 going in so far. That's the daily quota I hope!!
Two points to note.
1) Those familiar yellow colours that are carried regulary on the the Elliott horses I have just realised is the one and same Presidential hopeful Sean Gallagher. I only copped it today when Richie Forristal mentioned it in his column.
2) Ruby has been a notable absentee this week. No announcement I am aware of, but the word down in Listowel was that he was suffering from a dose of the flu. Maybe that could be the expanation for his absence so far this week.

Thought she gave it a good ride and is a decent jockey Jane Mangan - judged that well, not often I end up going with a Taafe horse and think there'll be compensation for Wall Street Willy next time out.
