Biggest occasion crowd wise to date so hopefully punters will get a good match and although a lot of people like to be against the dubs there will be more who are licking their lips at the thought of a Kerry V dublin final...Bookies in particular with that potential final to create the biggest ever GAA betting occasion if it occurs..back to tomorrows match and Donegals incredible work ethos...KIldare should probably have beaten them..be some semi final if they had....so youd have to think dublin have the firepower to get the better of the ulster mens resistance ...THen again Tyrone & kildare failed....
if that lily goal had registered , donegal would have been chasing a six point lead , imo it would have opened up and they would have been beaten by more.
I think if the dubs beat them they beat them handy, 20 squids on dublin minus 3,4,5,6,7,8 and if donegal manage to pull it off ill be content to sacrifice the 120.

Dublin look a great price on the handicaps. The pundits have really flattered this Donegal team. They are hugely over rated and i dont see them having the game to beat a team like the Dubs with their forward line. Tyrone should have buried them in Ulster in one of the most one sided matches i have seen all year in terms of overall play. Everything went right for them that day and again, to the lesser extent against Kildare they were on the right side of all the key turning points in the game. The Dubs took Tyrone to the cleaners and i cant see how they wont do the same to Donegal. The Dubs to wipe out the handicap early and run out convincing winners.
Dubs overall points total of around 16 looks low if the weather is fair. That spread seems based on Donegal conceding so few goals. But the Dubs could have netted a bagful against Tyrone and have averaged a lot of goals all year. If Donegal have to go chasing the game from early on then i think the game will open up a lot more than predicted.

Agree with some of the comments. From a betting perspective a handicap bet on Dublin looks good for me, I think the bookies are reading the Donegal book too much.. Mr Mischief your right about Connolly he has never seemed to play big two games on the trot. He wont get the space and time on Sunday like he was handed against Tyrone, the Donegal defensive system will be up their arses from the word go. I think Dublin will eventually break them down as the game goes on though, if the Dubs get a goal first it will be interesting to see how Donegal react, seeing as they have only conceded one goal in the champ all year and that was agaisnt Cavan (a peno when the game was winding down). One big change I noticed this year for once is.. the Dubs are coming into the game after a week of less media coverage or hype, that is a big thing considering the coverage Dublin GAA gets. On the other side of the coin, the media have seemed to be livin in the hills all week! The duel battles of Murphy/O'Carroll & A Brogan/Lacey will have a huge bearin on the game..although there are rumours Lacey may drop back to corner back and Leo McLoone will start at 6. This will be a cracker, full house..in all fairness it has to be said the Dub fans are the heartbeat of the GAA folk, hope they win for the sake of Leinster football. Verdict: Dublin.

Big crowd from the forgotten county going so should be a cracking atmosphere.
If Donegal can keep it tight in the first half then they have a big chance imo. Obviously a lot depends on whether the dubs can handle the pressure of being big favourites.
Dun na nGall Abu.
If ever a county needed a lift it's Donegal.

Paddies Pow er go 4/5 for the Davin stand end to have most scores in the senior match. Its always an advantage palying into that end as any breeze blows that way especially with the hill end open. Watching the minor game the breeze seems quite stiff into the Davin end. Looks a very good bet.

All over, the favs won again.Anybody and that includes most previous posters are unfortunately going to be dissapointed that a 1/4 chance hasnt been turned over.So put yere knobs back in yer pants and wait for the senior match

I would feel aggrieved too Galwayman. But they turned up to make up the numbers and did themselves proud ...more than their senior hurlers or footballers can say this year. I had Dublin minors at 1/5 in a final piece of a big acca and I have kicked the cat 10 times. Off to the vet now :)

They had their chances and could have won it so you can't moan too much. I heard a minor manager being interviewed on the radio a while back (can't remember who it was) and he mentioned having written to Croke Park complaining about the standard of refereeing in inter county minor games. He got a response that was something along the lines of 'sure the refs have to learn somewhere'. Ridiculous.

Yeah, backed Galway at 15/8 when they were 3 up and in complete control. Too good a price to turn down. If it was on betfair i probably would have traded out but sometimes when you think your well on you have to be prepared to go big on go home!

Hate watching Donegal and have strong views on restricting the use of handpass (ruining the game).
However its interesting in its own right - Donegal very beatable if they were able to take any kind of medium-to-long range points. Are Dublin good enough?

Cheers Lapsy, He is lucky he doesnt have to watch this **** as spillane put it. The wirst thing about this is that the dubs knew it was coming and still look clueless

Horrible game to watch but this is what we'll be seeing regularly now I think. I think this game is one to forget about, no point in even analysing it, it was a like a game of chess at times, the cynical fouling from both sides were digraceful. No point in labelling Donegal the masters of blanket defencing, it was out long ago they have just took it to a new level. Horrendus to watch, If I was in Croker today I would be looking for my money back. Better off going down to the park to watch the ladies Junior final. At least we can look forward to 'Gaelic football final. A game of traditional stuff. Well done Dublin, I'd say there is a few Dub men with heart problems after today! Best of luck in the final.

Donegal should nearly be banned for 12 months with that carry on..michael murphy one of the best full forwards in the country back playing as one of donegals 10 sweepers...mcfadden on his own in the dublin half...it was the most negative style of play ever seen...thank heavens their gone....Connolly didnt deserve to be sent off either..but Dublin will have to improve greatly to beat Kerry....

Turkey of a game.We just about got through it.Spillane was right when he said it was a victory for football and now we have the prospect of a great final (hopefully).Id say connolly will be allowed play when they look at the replay

Well done to Dublin who showed great character to overturn the three point deficit.
Donegal remind me of our 1990 Italia WC campaign when we got to the quarter finals scoring two goals ffs.
Congrats to all you boys in blue on here I think the final will be a good game.

None if theres any justice!!..Mcfadden the only possible nomination in the forwards but as things stand Cooper, Declan O sullivan and darren o sullivan will get three...

Good point Mordin, Karl Lacey is indeed Donegals most influential player and a massive turning point today when he went off. I think himself and Kevin Cassidy will both get All Stars, Lacey definetly has to get one, he has been indeed been the coq of Donegals defensive machine. Neil Mc Gee, Ryan Bradley and Anthony Thompson should definetly get nominees. The work ethic of the Donegal side is phenomenal.
Connolly was unlucky to be sent off, when you see the elbow and knee digs at Galvin in the Mayo game, it makes you wonder?!! It was a yellow card offence and thats it! O'Gara was done harshly against Kildare for something similar. Pat Gilroy is a shrewd buck, Dublin immediately adapted the 'Donegal style' when Connolly was sent off. If Michael Murphy had straightened up his placed ball kicks in the first half, Dublin could have fallen short! As I said in a previous post, its a game to forget about .. Congrats again Dublin, what a year it has been for GAA in the capital. I'm looking forward to Up For the Game already!!

Donegal cant get an all star in the forwards bar mcfadden seeing as he was their only player playing in the forwards?...maybe Michael murphy might get one corner back!!!

I think the Dubs are capable of playing but were prepared too much to counteract Donegals style which didnt work. I found the panel very good today, Spillane and O Rourke were bang on while Brolly sat on the fence at HT before realising at FT how wrong he was. Should be a great final, Would like to see the likes of the Brogins and Cluxton win one but maybe not this year. We'll be up in big numbers and I think Kerrys experience will win it for them. On another note, i think the red should be overturned but most likely it probably wont, as someone said, compared to the treatment of Galvin and Darren O Sullivan it was tame but thats what you get with an amateur organisation, incompetent refs.
Ref for the final???

terrible terrible game, delighted that donegal lost, very cynical and even when they had the ball there was little go forward from them, on a number of occasions when they had the ball i counted 13 donegal players in their own half.
The red card has to be overturned if there is to be any justice, it was hardly a yellow and the donegal player who fell to the ground should be ashamed of himself.

Todays goings on just served to prove how entertaining Kerry are . They play pure football , and would be even more entertaining if there was a restricted hand pass rule . Other teams would not be able to adopt a "donegal type of puke football " and Kerry would win most of their games through their athletic and skill ability .
The Dubs looked hapless today for most of the game , have to reassess their football ability , it looked poor enough today . On what we saw today Kerry will hose up unless climatic / weather conditions conspire against them . The standard of footpassing and shooting today from Dublin and an inability to retain the ball are big worries for any Dub supporter in my book .
Hope I am wrong and we get a game of great open football , but today must just shorten the odds on Kerry .

To answer the earlier question, Ciaran Kilkenny plays for Castleknock.
He's a dual star and will play in 2 All-Ireland Finals in September.
He played on the Hurling Feile winning team 4 years ago.

Did Spillane really say this or am I having my leg pulled?
Pat Spillane covering the Gaelic Football semi-final: You know that tribe in Iraq, the Shiite tribe? We've just seen Shiite football.

Kevin Mc changed the game for Dublin great substitution as Cahill was very very poor.
Incredible to see 15 Donegal players inside their own 45 at one stage in the first half.
Dublin minors fell over the line too, nice way to get into the finals.
