Spurs, that's the tie they would have wanted. Probably change that one to the Aviva. Great draw for them!

Damian Richardson just said on the News at One "3 great sides and one very good side in that (Rovers) group ".

I think he might be angling for a job with Sky Sports.

TOTTENHAM are 10-1 joint-favourites to win theEuropa League after being paired with surprise package Shamrock Rovers in the group-stage draw in Monaco.

Spurs, who are also in a section alongside Russian outfit Rubin Kazan and Greek team PAOK, are expected to hammer Shamrock in their double header.

Victor Chandler rate Harry Redknapp's team 8-11 to score seven or more goals against the Irish minnows.

Hills are best at 10-1 for Spurs to go all the way, while moneybags Paris St-Germain are the same price with Stan James after they were drawn in Group F alongside Athletic Bilbao, Salzburg and Slovan Bratislava.

Fulham, who must do battle with FC Twente, Odense and Wisla Krakow, are 33-1 to win the Europa League andStoke are available at 50-1 with Paddy Power following their tough-looking draw with Dynamo Kiev, Besiktas and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Championship club Birmingham face Braga, Club Brugge, and Maribor and are 100-1 with Victor Chandler, while Shamrock are the rank outsiders at a whopping 1,000-1 with the same firm.

All you can do is give it a rattle and pull in as much money for the club as you can.
By:
workrider
When: 26 Aug 11 20:22
i suppose thats one way of looking at it ... but moneys not everything  gant...the belief in the club since we won the league has been remarkable ..we now feel its our right to win things...that confidence that all great teams have ..we now have it...as regards us buying other clubs players,it will depend how many of our squad we lose to other teams...its always been the way of things in football ..the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker ..its so long ago that bohs and pats were buying players left right and centre..it goes with the territory....

Not much of a league of Ireland fan, but looking at that draw Rovers are going to get some hammerings, the Greeks have an entrenched mindset and will probably come to Dublin to defend, but if they put a bit of thought to it, they're only playing Shamrock Rovers and if they attack they'll win comfortably and then thrash them at home.

Good thing for a club financial point of view but as a supporter it will be pure torture.
