Secret Hero finished second in the 7.40 at Cork yesterday beaten a short head,is it possible that he never traded lower than 2.68 in running,is there anyway of checking this out.
I realise this is a technical question but plenty on here have a better grasp of the in running market than me.

of course it is possible, if he got beat on the line then it suspends so if he led all the way and then get caught then his in running odds would never have risen. The odds on the winner were probably quite high at one point i would imagine

It probably shows how much i know but i thought he would have traded odds on.

I'm fairly certain he would have traded odds on. Was only caught in the final strides. I'd imagine he probably traded as low as 1.3.

ok i read post wrong i thought you meant he may never traded higher than 2.68. It does sound strange he wouldn't have traded lower.

I would have thought he was far more likely to not trade at odds on if he was only caught on the line zipfried.
I didn`t see the race, but I`m assuming it came very late and never looked like getting there.

Just watched the race there, would have expected it to trade odds on.

Just slight odds on mind, dont think there was ever a point it looked like a short odds shot - Headache looked to be holding it, then Secret Hero looked the winner 1/2f out for maybe 2 strides before the winner started to fly and always looks like getting there

Would have expected 1.8-1.9 personally

The horse in front often trades a bit bigger than it should as there is always a tendancy for people to back the fast finisher rather than the horse in front in running imo(depending on how fast ur pics are)Devil

Thanks for the civilised nature of your responses,i was half expecting an avalanche of abuse.
I put up an in running lay at 2.68 and was astounded that it was only partly matched,a tiny part naturally, and felt i was done but thanks to BJG i realise that was not the case.I have been told about these robots that match between the two exchanges, must have taken a day off yesterday.
Thanks again.

the markets here are gone desperately light, liquidity very poor, but watching the race he should surely have gone odds on.ten minutes before a run of the mill irish race the amount matched can be less than 10k and the place markets are completely gone
