from a Tourist's POV ?

I''ll be visiting next month, and I'm not entirely sure where to go, I can only envisage a load of green fields, pubs that only offer Guiness and Dublin Castle.

Anywhere interesting that I'm not aware of ?

Help would be much appreciated.

Catch a league of Ireland game, great skill, great excitement and unreal intensity.
Report db1974 July 20, 2011 7:40 PM BST
Go to Falls Road in Belfast, that will be interesting I'd say
Report Rocketfingers July 20, 2011 7:44 PM BST
In all fairness the taxi tour around Belfast is probably the most interesting thing to see in Ireland.
Report Cramped_With_A_Nun July 20, 2011 7:44 PM BST
reimer stop being aggressive, I'm going to Ireland and asking a normal question, calm down.

Thanks lads

The delights of Ireland for the tourist are boundless .
-God awful weather
-Ludicrously high prices
-Signposting varying from non-existent to woeful
-Generally lousy service
-Piles of oul stones and crumbling castles
-Visually unattractive towns festooned with ugly hoardings and clogged with traffic
-Litter and dog-poo everywhere .

Enjoy !

Are the people friendly ? especially the women ?Grin
Report squigs July 20, 2011 9:17 PM BST
Copper Face Jacks is where you want to head for friendly woman.

It depends what you are into and what you are looking for in a holiday in Ireland.
Report kevo July 20, 2011 9:53 PM BST
As much as I have enjoyed holidays in Ireland over the years, my last two holidays have been spent in Monte Carlo, better weather and more affordable than Ireland.
Report Princesse D'Anjou July 20, 2011 9:58 PM BST
No Copper Face Jacks though Kevo - Monte Carlo has its downsides too
Report downallstar July 20, 2011 10:01 PM BST

Shanahan's on The Green is a truly superb restaurant and a 'must visit' for anyone spending a few days in Dublin.

If you're looking for a place to stay the Westin Hotel opposite Trinity College is fantastic.

All the best and have a great time!
