Lads...I have thousands on this double...2/5 & 2/5 doubled = 0.96/1...Just do the decent thing and lump on...
Dublin are a much better team than Wexford and will be well in front at Half Time...Thay are very good at closing out games against inferior opposition...Wexford were impressive but they beat 3 very average teams to get this far.

Tipperary will score goals today and I expect them to have 2/3 scored before Half Time and that will give them a platform to kick on in the 2nd Half...Waterford have some good players but thay are in transition and some of their better players are short off experience.

Tipp minus 6 on its own looked the safer bet to me, not wanting to denigrate Gaelic Football, but it is not as skillfull a game and if a team from the middle tier is fit and well organised, they should really be capable of giving most teams a game until half time at least, it is in the last third of the match where the legs are going that the bit of class kicks in.

Whereas hurling is a touch game, all skill and a top team can obliterate an inferior team from the start, there is so much in the wrist, Eoin Kelly is breaking down physically, but his wrists still make him one of the best in the game. The footballers can pump weights to make themselves competitive, hurling is different.
Report G Hall July 11, 2011 5:34 PM BST
stop neilld hurling is a 5 county game really, football is a 32 county game and a much better game.I am not knocking hurling completely, some of the skill level is good, but overall it is pretty bad.
Report redroar July 11, 2011 6:36 PM BST
Will you get away, football is a 32 county game because even the most average teams from division 4 can frustrate division 1 teams simply by being fit and physical. Its not a case of a high level of skill across the board but an amalgamation of averageness. None of the teams could even hold a candle to the Kerry teams of the 70's/80's or Galway in the 60's. Without a single doubt football is at the worst standard in living memory.

Fair enough hurling is limited to 5 counties but we're currently living in a era with one of the greatest ever teams in Kilkenny and a soon to all time great Tipperary team. I'll take a final between those two over two teams of failed basketball players playing keep ball any day.
Report neill d July 11, 2011 8:46 PM BST
I agree redroar.
Report G Hall July 14, 2011 10:30 PM BST
you put up good arguments and it is after all about opinions, but boy have I seen some bad games of hurling as well,my preference is for football, and my post was a bit tongue in cheek
Report neill d July 15, 2011 9:01 PM BST
It is definitely more competitive anyway, it also crosses over well to rugby and basketball.
