Dinglemick.......the track didn't change the going till after the 2nd race.......harsh to critise someone in a studio in London.
Report Bigwillystyle July 7, 2011 3:20 PM BST
He is a clown that Canadian fella.  Mute butrton whenever he comes on.  Duggan is a bigger clown.
Report JayTrumpOldTomDubbl July 7, 2011 3:23 PM BST
Agreed Gant the guy in the studio knew the description he had from Naas was suspect and it seemed to pain him to relay such info....he's ok and is better than most...and has good racing knowledge[;)]
Report dinglemick July 7, 2011 3:29 PM BST
Gant...... irishracing.com whom i may add provide an excellent race service stated on their website 15 minutes before the first race that it had started to bucket down rain at 4 o clock and hadn t stopped ...... The presenter on at the races stated just before the off of the first race when it had just stopped that it was a nice fine evening and it was " top of the ground at naas " .This to me misleads viewers
your dead right it was the racecourses fault not to change the going to till after the second but i just think that being the dedicated race channel they should maybe look a bit more to conditions when they don t have garry o brien at thetrack ........
He then formed an opinion that the first race was a bad maiden ....now whether it was or it turns out that it wasn t i think his opinion was formed cause he thought it was good to firm ground and they came home a bit tired ....
Your right though Gant  out of line of mine to call him an idiot
Report GANT007 July 7, 2011 3:37 PM BST
To be fair our tracks are not the best at giving going descriptions......even to trainers on the day of a race.

i'm a little surprised at the price of teos sister tbh... i thought they would make this odds on with only one possible danger ...still maybe they will come heavy for this on track ....looking forward to having a look at her in the pre parade before she enters the ring proper...

INWOOD in the 7.20 my only bet

Report soapp July 7, 2011 5:27 PM BST
Not a drop of rain in Clontarf all day. Looks like plenty of it in other parts of the country.

Race 4) Inwood. Agree with Buses here. Won similar race here in the past. A nice blow out LTO. Missed an engagement recently with the change of ground. An e/w chance if the rain stays away.

Race 5) False Economy. Proven over CD. The jolly is only a 3 yr old unproven at the trip.

Mind you Johnny has a juicy book of rides. 6 rides of which 5 are in the first two in the betting.
Report soapp July 7, 2011 5:42 PM BST
A few to lay tonight

Race 1) Teo's Sister 2.58

Race 2) Forever Glory 2.62

Race 3) Dawariya 2.5

Race 4) Adam's Return 5.4

Race 5) Saddler's Rock 2.74

Race 6) Green To Gold 2.04

Race 7) Red Calima 1.78

Most have gone shorter. These were laid at lunchtime.

I think the 4/1 with Ladbrokes  Lady Bennett in the second last race is a cracking each way bet with the dead 8 runners ......... over  1mile 2f  the last day at Navan in its first handicap she picked up real well despite still looking a bit green ( only its fourth ever run ) ... She was going away at the finish so the extra 2 furlongs should play to her strenghts and by High Chapperal the little bit of juice will suit aswell ....she got 11bs for it but she was starting off a lowly 55 so still think there is more improvement in her .. I know many might think Green to Gold is well in with the mandatory penalty for the   Bellewstown romp last weekend but there isn t much else in it so for me 4/1 each way well worth having a go .... good luck all

just back ...no show from bolgers in the pre parade before the first...when she did appear she looked really well ..i went and availed myself of the 7/4 on offer Sad... someone told me she touched as high as 11/4....still a winners a winner.....
backed oxxs in the next she was very disappointing ...fancied oxxs in the third but liked the looked of harringtons in the parade ring and backed it at 6/4 /o..a furlong don i was cursing myself as she was making hard work of going by the eventual third...once again alls well that ends well ..finally backed askaska only got 7/2 about this ..for littleman yours looked really well in the paddock him and the winner were stand outs ...i'm surethey'll find a little race for adam before long....finally couldnt belive my eyes during the running of the 7.55.the groundsmen were out on a tractor about 200yds from the finish ..if that had broken down i would't like to have been the management...they would have had o stop the race inside the final furlong madness imo and should never be allowed happen again....
Report neill d July 7, 2011 8:44 PM BST
Teo had a lovely way of going about her, very like big brother. surely there will be a Guineas quote in the morning. Fair play to Bolger for biting the bullet and racing her as I'm sure there are a few who wouldn't like to expose her just in case.

Report neill d July 7, 2011 9:32 PM BST
No, said this morning she might take up Matron engagement, just got a bit mixed up, don't think the 3yo fillies we have seen so far are all that so it ain't impossible that she might be the best of them. Yes, Bolger lnows how to extract money, what was the name of that one he sold just after his 3 Dewhurst winners in a row, can't even remember it. Ran in the Dewhurst after sale was agreed, he was stuffed anyway.

Yeah, that is him indeed, might have won a Sandown Classic trial, but not much else. Most likely to be seen next in a Nottingham Conditions race in late October worth 3 grand.

2 Bolger group horses that dropped off the face of the earth, Gan Amhras (Guineas placed, subsequently lost plot), my guess he is probably standing as a stallion in Kazakstan.

Three Rocks, Group Class sprinter/miler, what happened these two, anyone know?
Report workrider July 7, 2011 9:52 PM BST
neill d remember backing gan amhras at the curragh one day after his good run ...he was a horrible little horse i was chasing as i'd had a bad day ..remembering saying to myself this is crazy this fellow has no chance ..think it was 13/8 or thereabouts ..he finished nearly last....
Report neill d July 7, 2011 9:55 PM BST
Yeah, that Guineas form he had was amazing though, STS in front, Delegator 2nd, then an undercooked Rip and Mastercraftsman in behind. Amazing to think he never won after that.

Good card in Cork tomorrow.  Im going to plough into Oneeightofamile.  Should bolt up against this lot.  Hopefully get 3/1 tomorrow.

according to your post at 11.07 you thought 9/2 was a little tight ..now you come on telling me you took morning prices ..it ended up 5/1 ...cracks are starting to appear littleman....
Report Bigwillystyle July 7, 2011 10:37 PM BST
I took the price.  If the rain came the horse would have been 5/2.  I am very rarely wrong on price.  Didnt see any other bet on the card so i took a chance.  We all do it.
Report workrider July 7, 2011 10:42 PM BST
the winner was backed off the boards...why not lay it on here then if you thought it had no chance ....?.....i cant understand a so called pro punter as you call yourself having a bet while not knowing what the ground is going to be like..in all my years in racing i have never heard such tripe...

Report Giant Strides July 7, 2011 10:50 PM BST
That`s it wr. I expected it to be a 2yo when I first heard it mentioned. Did Bolger give any reason why it took so long to reach the track? I wasn`t surprised at the late drift tbh. Nice filly.

Said it had niggly problems all last year.  Said the matron stakes is the target.
Report workrider July 7, 2011 10:54 PM BST
she's had a lot of little niggly problems giant nothing serious ...the reason i think people thought she was a 2yo might be something to do with timing of the race..usually the first race on the card is a 2yo race..maybe that confused a few...
Report Giant Strides July 7, 2011 10:57 PM BST
Absolutely wr. Strange for there to be no 2yo maiden. Probably the worst card I`ve ever seen there.

Report Allduckornodinner July 7, 2011 11:00 PM BST
Adaskara looked very well in the ring. Should win again soon. Didn't think a whole lot of Saddlers Rock's form before the race and he might not have beat a lot but he looks to be a progressive type. Should be seen to better effect again over two miles on softer ground.
