Anyone seeing any upsets today??

SJ going top price 2/7 Dublin and 2/5 Tipp

A double the 2 will be my only bet - looks a fair 4/5 shot

A lot less than 4-5 here ..hard to know what SJ would lay...Dublin look to be the dodgier part purely on Offalys ability over the years to have great championship matchs in them despite looking poor in league and is this not the dublin team who could not beat antrim last year?..Dublin 1-2 offaly 2-1 be more accurate if we take dublin v cats league final away...
Report moneypenny May 29, 2011 12:18 PM BST
I wouldn't think betting Dublin at 2/5 to beat Offaly is that great an idea. Tradition means a lot and Offaly will be relishing the underdogs role today while the favourites tag may not sit well with Dublin.

Cork will always give everything they have against Tipp and it shouldnt be forgotten that they beat them at this stage last year.

Its a double that may well come up but i think there are better 4/5 shots to be found
Report tobywong. May 29, 2011 12:27 PM BST
I am all over tipp on the hc !
Report timberman May 29, 2011 12:28 PM BST
Tipp would be my preference of the two bets...
Report Anyska May 29, 2011 12:34 PM BST
we know league form goes out the window when it comes to championship and its set up for offaly to take the dubs down. Dunno how much the odds will change if it close at half time but it may be better to hold off the dubs until the second half
Report JayTrumpOldTomDubbl May 29, 2011 1:02 PM BST
I'm with timberman here on this Cork have a very moderate team going by past standards and have little or no chance v the tipp machine once its well oiled... this year...fame and Glory for the short price dubbl and Greenbelt Star must have a great chance in the 4.25 at Leoprstwn.....
Report GANT007 May 29, 2011 1:03 PM BST
I fancy Tipp bigtime to beat Cork.......halfback line without leaders like Curran and O'Halpian looks weak.

Dublin have improved again and I believe they will cover the spread against Offaly......We all know Offaly are a proud county but wide open spaces against a not so pacey team with players carrying niggles......The Dubs for me.

Wexford are always hard to beat at home.

Good luck with the punting.
Report boca87 May 29, 2011 1:12 PM BST
Have Ladcrokes priced up the player scores markets wrong? Especially Pat Horgan and Conal Keaney if they are freetakers today. Anyone any the wiser about this?
Report RamonSanchezPizjuan May 29, 2011 1:23 PM BST
Conal Keaney at 1.72 for over 2.5, surely buying money?
Report fookitanyway May 29, 2011 1:35 PM BST
Dublin -4 (4/6, Laddies)
Tipperary -4 (5/6, Laddies)

Works out over 2/1. Tipperary look nailed on to cover the spread against a much changed Cork team. Looks like a period of rebuilding for the Rebels and its far from ideal that they begin with Tipperary.

Dublin and Offaly is a little bit more complicated but Dublin are knocking on the door for the last few years. they seem to have steped up a gear this year and while they still make silly mistakes at times the more confidence and experience they gain the less mistakes that will occur.

Going to do a straight treble of Wexford, Dublin and Tipp aswell. Works out around 11/10.
Report BJG May 29, 2011 1:41 PM BST
I know league form goes out the window usually here but Dublin impressed me no end with their improvement this season - Offaly had a few valiant displays but were largely disappointing i thought.

I think Dublin will win easily by 6-7

Game of opinions tho and i may well be wrong [;)]

Im just on me way to Lads shop now that Conal Keaney to score over 2.5 points at 8/11 looks like buying money!!
Report RamonSanchezPizjuan May 29, 2011 1:49 PM BST
Just done the same myself. Surely McCrabbe won't be on them?
Report boca87 May 29, 2011 1:52 PM BST
I've done the same. Split my bet between Horgan and Keany...surely both can't be taken off frees today?
Report timberman May 29, 2011 1:54 PM BST
be interesting to see the crowd at croke park..15k would be as much as i can see there with very few from offaly and hurling in dublin still a bit player...
Report BJG May 29, 2011 1:56 PM BST
Now lets go Conal Devil

Daly will make bits of them at half-time.....too much fluting about.
Report timberman May 29, 2011 2:56 PM BST
Wait till all the Dooleys(ie joe, billy & Johnie) have sons playing with offaly they will be unbeatable!!
Report RamonSanchezPizjuan May 29, 2011 2:56 PM BST
Ton down the drain on Keaney here. Arghh hate giving it to Laddies.

That commentator is brutal
Report boca87 May 29, 2011 3:36 PM BST
What did Keaney end up scoring? Nowhere near a tv, but I guess he is not on frees. Radio commentator said that he was influential on the game?
Report GANT007 May 29, 2011 3:42 PM BST
I think he only got a point.........He spent the game out around midfield.

Thanks Gant...not what I was expecting.
Report Rocketfingers May 29, 2011 3:54 PM BST
London 3 points up at the break, bit of a joke considering must of these lads are just club footballers at home, very little intercounty experience i believe. Mayo won't be allowed back into the county if they lose this Laugh

Be interesting semi finals in leinster hurling now...id guess the prices at
Galway 1/1 Dublin 1/1
KIlkenny 1/6 Wexford 6/1 on 100% books
Report Know Won Nose May 29, 2011 6:17 PM BST
Was in a SJ shop saturday evening and Tipperary were only 1-3. Didnt bother asking for a price on Dublin.
Report GANT007 May 29, 2011 6:19 PM BST
I would like a piece of 1/1 Galway but I reckon it will be around 8/11 - 4/6.
Report timberman May 29, 2011 6:23 PM BST
I agree with you Gant still some of those odds compilers might get carried away with the Dublin story...Dublin were very short today too....
Report GANT007 May 29, 2011 6:30 PM BST
That's true Timberman.......fair play to the Dublin hurling set up......It shows that years of hard graft can pay off.
Galway will have a good blowout against Westmeath next weekend and ease JC back in.
Report timberman May 29, 2011 6:35 PM BST
yea...theres still something in my head saying this dublin team will calf when the real real pressure comes on....only for keaney at stages today the free flowing forwards were under pressure...the early wide that was a point and a poorly conceded penalty on offalys part wont happen other days....
Report GANT007 May 29, 2011 6:46 PM BST
I agree with you 100%.....The likes of Galway would give Offaly a 12/14 point hiding any weekend.......
Report timberman May 29, 2011 6:52 PM BST
yea heres hoping for close to evens anyways....tipp look like a good price at 1-10 if you could get it v clare...i'm off out cheers gant...
