What a man. This man is a breath of fresh air compared to the corrupt and incompetent FF leaders that went before him. He is the longest serving Dáil memeber having served his his constituency for 36 years. He was always cut out for the job. He is very classy and he oozes confidence. He gives nothing away with his body language. He can talk about anything and is an authority on a wide range of subjects. This interview is going very well...he is so relaxed...but then again...he has nothing to hide and nor does his cabinet...

Enda Kenny...I salute you...You make me proud to be Irish...

He Looks Like a Character From Apres Match imo

Cowan had habit of saying things like..."as I have said before" and "as you know"...basically telling us that we were thick...I never voted FF...but that's what the majority of people voted for in 2007 when the writing was on the wall. The turkey's voted for Christmas...it was crazy but still there was enough "turkeys" around the place this time to vote in 20 FF TD's...they should hang their heads in shame...

That was a brilliant interview...It was refreshing to be told the truth. Thank God for SKY +...That man is a credit to the people of Mayo, Connaught and the Republic of Ireland...Take a bow son. He is putting the confidence back into Ireland...

In 20 years time when the ship is well away from the rocks there will be pictures of Enda Kenny over every fireplace in every  house in Ireland.

are you endas brother?or a party activist?..i thought he was a bit wooden.we will see how popular he is in 3 yrs time(i hope he is btw)
Report OnTheMachine May 27, 2011 10:24 PM BST
No...I'm not his brother or a party activist...but I beleieve in giving credit where credit is due...This man is fully transparent...The others that went before him would make Alcapone look like an altar boy.

If Enda can't do it...it can't be done...and don't any of ye forget that...

its all about opinions i suppose.his troops will ultimately decide how good or bad a job he makes of it.to gel the far right leanings of r bruton with the lefties in labour will require a lot of skill in the nest 4 years.....

I thought it was a bland interview, certainly not inspiring his two attempts at humour were met with a deafening silence, his reference to carlton house was supposed to be the first, his attempt then to thank the irish people had to revert to thanking the irish audience to receive an applause,by the way I have no party affiliation, but Enda is a solid genuine handicapper who has improved immensely-which is better than some of our recent talented but quirky and deceptive hawk wing bred styles, but "a breath of fresh air ,classy and oozing confidence", onthemachine is either fionnuala Kenny or michael Ring.

Fianna Fail...brought this country to it's knees...along with the banks. That is a fact...If Enda Kenny can improve the state of things from worse to bad in HIS 1st 5 YEARS AS TAOISEACH...he will have carried us a mighty distance...HIS 2nd % YEARS WILL CARRY US BACK TO WHERE WE WERE IN 2004...believe me I know.
Report OnTheMachine May 27, 2011 10:55 PM BST

Any one that resorts to phrases like "believe me I know "invariably knows sweet F.A,it doesn't matter a whole lot who is taoiseach because of the financial straight jacket we are in ,they are just puppets to our paymasters, any initiative or programme has to be budget neutral.

OnTheMachine......what are you on tonight....its not good for you......the only good thing about Enda is that by his being there we VOTED the other lot out....good riddance....but now having raided peoples Pension Funds I hope you feel as good about ENDA when he comes to raid your savings... when Ireland defaults...

Father forgive them, for they know not what they do Luke 23:34

Then Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do".
This first saying of Jesus on the cross is traditionally called "The Word of Forgiveness". It is theologically interpreted as Jesus' prayer for forgiveness for those who were crucifying him: the Roman soldiers, and apparently for all others who were involved in his crucifixion.

Whoever mentioned the financial straight jacket is spot on, in real terms, he will be defined by how we negotiate our debt payments when the inevitable default does arrive. I haven't followed closely, but apparently the sums don't add up.

OntheMachine, I'm not sure what the story is at the moment with regard to the regulation of our financial institutions in this country, maybe it has been sorted out, I'm not sure, but FG will have done a great service if they can put safeguards in place so that Banks can never be given such rope to borrow/gamble/trade/lend recklessly again.

as a man, he is honest and likeable, thats a good start. He is fine chairman/ organiser of his party. I wouldn't describe him as terribly charasmatic or a great mind, but thats okay, these are not prerequisites to being Taoiseach. What is important to me is that he surrounds himself with the best people available (penetrative thinkers) to run the country and that his TD's rise above local parish pump issues and act in the interest of the country as a whole.

His oratory skills have improve a lot btw. Grand fella, hope it works out for us all.

the only reason for this will be to keep the children away from the fire incase they get burnt.

It has to be said that the weeks events has been up lifting historic and are a temporary moral boost for the country.
To be fair the Queens visit was probably in the making for a few years now. O Bama was going to come with the elections next year anyway. Kenny has done ok so far.

However this week also saw the following not so good:
Private Pensions are now going to be raided.
Even though the public sectors employer are in debt up to their tonsils - pensions are not touched.

NAMA senior employees got bonus's ( for what!)
the top execs wavered there bonus of upto 80% of their salary - now its great they didnt take it.but how the FXXk were they deemed to be entitled to it in the first place.

A few election promises are starting to unwind.

By purpose mentioned the disgraceful suspended sentance for  a Garda.

Unless Europe comes up with a real solution to the countries currently in difficulty for which the ECB had to share the blame at least in our case anyway...there will be no choice but to show  Europe the back door and default. I just dont see us doing it otherwise.
