They wont let Connacht play their heineken Cup matches in Pearse Stadium. The delegation doesnt meet until next April. As a Connacht season ticket holder, The Sportsground(Galway) is not even fit for Magners games. Fair play to Connacht though, they have frozen their season ticket prices until June 7 (H Cup draw date)

Newmanx don't you think it is time Connacht played some home games in Dubarry park Athlone? guaranteed higher crowds plus a lot more accessible than the Sportground, which lets face it is a nightmare to get to with traffic on a Friday evening.

Well yes, it will probably end up that way. I think they will wait to see who they get in the pool. I just feel Pearse Stadium would be ideal. Ive been to the old Thomond on a Friday night and the traffic was brutal also.

Whereever Connacht play their games in the Heineken Cup next seasons is one thing their bigger problem is the way the IRFU continue to treat them with regards funding and players .... In the Heineken Cup next season and three of their best players Fionn Carr , Damien Browne and Sean Cronin are let go to Leinster where 2 of them ( Carr and Browne ) probably won t even make the bench not to mind the team .... Cronin will be pushed because there is no Irish hooker there and the IRFU / Kidney will want him starting although that could change next year as i believe Richard Strauss will be Irish qualified ..... There are at least 7 - 10 good quality players in Leinster and Munster ( in particular Leinster ) who won t get on the Starting 15 s who should be playing with Connacht next season ..... it would benefit the players , Connacht and irish rugby in the long run ........
