Had a terrible 10/11 season, Kempes probably in the Irish Hennessy his biggest win. No Aintree winners or even Cheltenham winners. Lets hope he has a few at Punchestown.

The Great Man????? Tax evading cnut in my book. It is people like him who have this country in the sh1t.
Report GANT007 April 26, 2011 10:24 AM BST
I think if you check the facts the people who fecked up the country are not tax exiles........builders who did a runner don't count as tax exiles.

JP McMANUS'S prospects of regaining the crown of champion jumps owner in Ireland have been boosted by the purchase of unbeaten bumper horse Waaheb and leading novice chaser Thegreatjohnbrowne.

Waaheb has barely come off the bridle in three wins under the care of Dermot Weld and in the colours of his son Kris. Although he didn't run at Cheltenham, he is likely be a warm order in the Betchronicle.com Champion Bumper at Punchestown next Wednesday.

Weld expects big things from the four-year-old, who is the same age as Hidden Universe was when he won  the  Punchestown  race for the yard last year.

"That race is definitely the plan for Waaheb," said Weld. "I think he is pretty adaptable ground-wise and will handle the conditions at Punchestown.

"He's very big, but still weak and immature, so Cheltenham was off the agenda. He's  still very backward but has lots of potential and I see considerable improvement in him later in the year when he'll likely go hurdling.  He'll go on his summer holiday after Punchestown win, lose or draw."

McManus leads Gigginstown House Stud, the reigning champion owner, by more than €170,000 and is 4-9 with ****  to win the title, with his other new purchase Thegreatjohnbrowne holding entries in the Grade 1 Growise Champion Novice Chase at Punchestown also on Wednesday and in a novice handicap chase on Friday. They quote 13-8 about another
