Take out the favourite and there is sh1t all in the race - a ptp winner and ran a decent enough race on hurding debut under an educational ride - can see it reaching the places

Loads of non runners today. 10 alone in the 4.45

Well done Jenari and Jesse ...no problem in jocking off the offspring in order to be sure to get the win ...great trainer and always trying..,a great boost to Waaheb how good is this fella ??? surely huge chance in Punchestown....[;)]

That race Allee Garde won had some great aul stars in it.

A very nice crowd turned up for the all NH card at the picturesque Kilkenny track run in pleasant conditions. So much so that all the racecards were sold out before the second race and four of the five main courses were off the menu by the third race. Mind you it's great value the food there. The four joints off were the Roast Beef, the Roast Stuffed Turkey and Ham, the Bacon and Cabbage and the Lasagne.

Race 1) Like The Da (25/1). I didn't get there in time to see this race.

Race 2) Shifa (11/10f). Ruby had this one in the van all the way and had tto be at his strongest to see off Nina on her dad's Jeunopse.

Race 3) Steele's Rock (9/2jf) Tom Doyle is in a rich vein of form and himself and Davy on the runner up nicked five lengths at the start. Having ridden the Bowe horses of late he is a great judge of pace from the front and did just enough to beat Davy. The rest of the field never counted including the other joint fav Mr Eko.

Race 4) Allee Garde (7/2) As Punchestown mentioned on another thread Ruby just showed here why he is the best jockey bar none riding in the British Isles. He had this unproven stayer towards the rear, made his ground turning in and literally got up on the line. Tom Doyle on the runner up On The Way Out couldn't believe that he got beat. He had ridden the perfect race. Catch Me (5/2f) made a forward move early in the staight but never really threatened to win.

Race 5) Torphichen (5/6f) Andy Mc gave this a brilliant front running ride, never putting a foot wrong and just had enough in reserve to hold the rag Idarah.

Race 6) China Goes Green (25/1) The punters went green I think when this one under the excellent Andrew Lynch always prominent outstayed the flattering course specialist Tiernan's Terror and the jolly Doc O'Donnell (10/3f). Between the last two it looked like it was just which of the placed horses was going to win.

Race 7) Jenari (9/10f) This one was touted all day and never looked like letting the punters down as he strolled home to win from the very promising runner up The Young Offender with the rest out with the washing.

Race 8) Miss Nomer (16/1) This rag showed that the Eddie O'Grady stable is back in business by bringing up the double. Mid div, he made his ground up on the turn in and was alwaying holding main danger River Sava. The jolly Tapaigh An Deis (3/1) was up front till the turn in and just went backwards thereafter.

The main talking point obviously was the ground. Decs are made nearly 52 hours earlier and with the great weather we are getting it was just no one's fault that the ground had dried out so much by the off time. Mind you it was lovely ground for the fast ground performers with a great covering of grass.

Race 5) Torphichen (5/6f) Andy Mc gave this a brilliant front running ride, never putting a foot wrong and just had enough in reserve to hold the rag Idarah.

The 2 furlong on top of the minimum seemed to stretch Torphicen's stamina to the limit,though I thought Andy Mac was very aggressive plenty soon enough in the race,drifted badly on the run in and wasn't a million miles away from a Stewards.

BTW this forum needs some more quality like Soapps's efforts.

nice report soapp , jenari , would he be able for soft to heavy iyo..as you said lots of talk about him ...was just wondering how far do you think he can progress...?

I'm not one for form WR, just a whisper merchant and follow the money. But for what it's worth I was told that Jenari had to win on Sunday in order to qualify for a 100 grand bumper in Punchestown. Mind you on his debut he gave Weld's Waaheeb a fright who went on and won his 3rd bumper in most impressive style in Limerick after that. I would say he would go on soft ground being by Milan who was sired by Sadlers Wells.
