Rocketfingers and Workrider, I know your views alreadyDevil
Report Rocketfingers April 11, 2011 10:18 AM BST
What do you mean Newmanix? I think Unders big style is the way to go, 1st leg both teams will keep it tight. Hard to imagine a team can lose on Friday v Bray at home and win in Sligo on the Monday without top scorer and general god of the hoops Gary Twigg but a lot stranger things have happened i suppose.
Report Newmanix April 11, 2011 10:26 AM BST
Shams seem to be missing 3 more according to the rte website
Report Rocketfingers April 11, 2011 10:52 AM BST
Twigg, Turner, O'Donnell and Sives. I would say 3 of those would start and maybe if O'Donnell got a proper run in the team he may force his way into the side. But they have a seriously strong squad i think only Twigg and maybe Turner they will miss.
Report workrider April 11, 2011 12:49 PM BST
i also think this will be a tight game ,on the evidence of the last meeting between these teams anyway ..sligo were imo the better team that night ..rovers were lucky to hold out...after fridays game i think we need to see massive improvement from our forwords , who seemed to lack imagination around the middle of the park ... goal opportunities were few and far between ..with twigg out we will be relying on kilduff to lead from the front ..he was poor on fri ...so all in all i'd say maybe a score line of 1-1 would be a fair result for us ....

Sligo are the better team and have the better manager.

But these kinds of matches suit Shams. They are slight underdogs. This suits them as there is no pressure to take the game to the opposition. They will soak up pressure and hit Sligo on the break.

1-1 or 2-1 Sligo
Report Sligo April 11, 2011 2:32 PM BST
Fancy unders myself as well. Think 1.67 is a reasonable price.

Rovers only conceded 1 goal in eight competitive fixtures this year and that was against Shames.

First leg so I think both sides will want to keep it tight.

Very funny apple. The Hoops'll win the league again this season easy enough, once again Sligo may have to rely on cup competitions to justify the wages. Anyhow I can see a poor 0-0 tonight. Hope I'm wrong cause I'm heading up in half an hour.
Report Sligo April 11, 2011 4:46 PM BST
Is that a joke MJK. Shams wage bill must be higher than Rovers?

Looks like a Rovers/Dundalk final now imagine the final will be in Tallaght.
Report workrider April 11, 2011 10:42 PM BST
yeah my young lad was thinking if there had been a northern side in final, it would have been played in windsor...
Report punkha1 April 11, 2011 10:50 PM BST
Yeah think that was the way they were going but with 2 southern teams in it and the Aviva not available reckon it will be tallaght.

You`re a gas man wr. I`d say you genuinely believe that bs too!
There all mercenaries believe it or not. They go where the money is best. Did you know Oman was signing for Fingal before they went bust? He was my player of the year when we pipped you lot in 09. But he was average last year, like so many of them, when we should have won it again. He could have stayed like several of the squad. Instead, he moved to our friendliest rivals who won said league title. The only one who transferred to the dark side.
Forgive me if I don`t roll out the red carpet on Friday evening.
Shoot me. That`s football

Go do them punkha. For all of our sakes! Cry

Shames much the better side on the night. Two games within 48 hours took it's toll on Rovers.

Sending off terrible decision again. Didn't alter outcome of game at all though. Rovers were comprehensively outplayed.
Report workrider April 12, 2011 11:47 AM BST
dont you mean SLIGO were comprehensively outplayed ...Laugh
Report Rocketfingers April 12, 2011 12:06 PM BST
Giant sissy you're going to get destroyed on Friday night, played off the pitch last night to be fair Shamrock Rovers ran out well deserved victors. With these players out injured they may well have stumbled on their strongest team. Saying that the 48 hour turn around for Sligo Rovers did not help but we did  not have the same hunger Shamrock Rovers players seemed to have.
Report Tony Fenton April 12, 2011 12:18 PM BST
The red card was well deserved imo. Felix was talking through his cat afterwards.
Report workrider April 12, 2011 12:21 PM BST
giant , its sad to see a grown man beg another to do his business for him... let bohs do their own dirty work if they can ...rocket ,sligo , the fact that sligo played on sat should not have had a big impact ..sligo are full time after all ..we played on fri and we had to travel ...so it dont add up...we have a great squad of players ...rocket , thats a very valid point re our team last night we have options that we never had last season ...i thought kelly and mc cormack well excellent last night ..broke up the play and let our midfield play their own game...cant wait for friday .....bring on the darkness .....

Well it does really matter if we are full time (We are the same as you lads part-time officially) or not 48 hours is not a long time to recoup for  anyone, but anyway we could have had a week WR and you still would have won as you wanted it more than us, thats the bottom line !

I laugh when i hear people say O'neill is a rubbish manager his teams may not be the easiest on the eye but he never misses a trick i.e. Taking Oman off at HT in the first game in the league. And he certainly knows how to play against us.

By the way that a crazy price available for you to beat Bohs 6/4
