Here a young Irishman stands on the brink of history and it's only fitting the forum should utter a silent cheer of support and encouragement .
If he can pull it off it will be an unbelievable boost for Irish golf and golf tourism -badly needed in these dire times ...especially so soon after Harrington and McDowell's trailblazing exploits.
Go Rory !Grin

Potential Irish grand slam in 3 years-what would be unbelievable achievement for a small country.

I reckon a 69 wins it for him -possibly a 70.
Firstly there are 4 birdiable par fives -Rory should be good for 2 maybe three birdies  there.
Secondly if McIlroy is playing well the chasers have to take some chances to catch him and that could be fatal at Augusta.
It really depends on his frame of mind -if he treats it as just another tournament and stays in the zone someone is going to have to shoot a a 64 or even 63 to beat him . There's only been one 64 so far and if someone does a 63 then they deserve it anyway .

Reckon a 70 will be enough

If he can keep findin the fairway i think he will win comfortably - he had a lot of good putts yesterday that just didnt drop - more of the same and he should win by 3/4
