I was there and it was a very enjoyable game, they got sense and organised for some top class opposition and both teams played open attacking football. Atmosphere was quite cack to be honest, but I can't blame the FAI on that one.

The bile that Ireland is a "sports mad nation" is finally being shown up for the myth that it is.

Bullsh . . Cork and Kerry playing in a ickey mouse friendly 65,000...Ireland playing in a European qualifier...32,000 If it's not the price then it must be the hatred of a foregin game the reason why no one is going....Wonder can anyone reply without using the names Jack Charlton and his band of merrymen for getting 40 thousand in the rugby ground

What you on about?? 4,100 showed up at Cork Kerry in the league in February. €13 a ticket for that.

It should be pointed out that it is very tough to succeed in International soccer for a nation our size, its deep water. In Rugby, the teams seem to always have tangigle success within a few steps, therefore its easier for them to drum up support. Its a case of win 5 games and you're the best in Europe. I'm a rugby fan but derive greater satisfaction when the footballers are going well as it is not just the foreign game but also the global game, success in that depth of competition is a great achievement.
