Two also correct for Workrider after a stewards inquiry, his answer to Q3 Killiney is also correct although not the one i had in mind. His answer to Q11 Nick Dundee also correct but again not the one i had in mind.
On a sadder note was told of the death of Paul Farrell at Thurles i remember him as the tic tac man at Leopardstown,The Curragh and Galway but was more famous at Shelbourne Park so would be known by Satellite Flight and Workrider.

Experiment over, back up and running.Four questions to go but first current scores
Ribelaro.11.
Workrider.3.
Downallstar.2.
Anywherebutcheltenham.1.
Baggers.1.
Four left 2 chasers 1 flat horse and 1 jockey and now a few clues.
Q8.Wicked colour.
Q9.Crabs mot is black.
Q12.Western Cannons.
Q20.Cymro XL.
The four answers are cryptic with Q8 and Q12 concentrate on the first word.Q9 Crab can be spelt Crabbe and Q20 concentrate on the second part of the clue.
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 8:55 PM BST
Will try a few more clues Q20 Cymro XL. What does XL mean maybe Roman numerals if so 40 and we know Cymro means Welshman take it from there.

Q 20 Ruby Walsh
Report workrider March 27, 2011 9:21 PM BST
think kalanisi has beaten me to it ...
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 9:31 PM BST
Well done Kalanisi...Ruby Walsh correct.
Cymro is Welshman and the name Walsh in Irish means Welshman indeed where i come from lots of people call him Ruby Welsh and in the west of Ireland they all pronounce it Welsh.XL is 40 in Roman numerals and a fortieth anniversary is a Ruby.
Now for Q8 you are pronouncing wicked with 2 syllables try doing it with 1 syllable and you might find a chaser of the seventies.
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 10:11 PM BST
Q9.Crabs mot is black....Crab can be spelt Crabbe giving you Buster Crabbe. He was a swimmer and an actor in the thirties famous for playing a particular role...Mot old Dublin expression for a girlfriend...Hope this helps you find Irish Grand National winner.
Report Kalanisi March 27, 2011 10:21 PM BST

Ooops!
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 10:33 PM BST
Thats a definite dead heat both of you came in at the exact same time so well done Kalanisi and Giant Strides.
Buster Crabbe was one of the first actors to play Tarzan...Tarzans mot = Jane...Piano keys white ones ivory, black ones ebony.
Q17.Western Cannons...Western normally means direction but it has another meaning in films and T.V. We are looking for a recent Ballydoyle great.
Report Kalanisi March 27, 2011 10:37 PM BST
Q 17 High Chaparral
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 10:48 PM BST
Well done again Kalanisi...Western Cannons....High Chapparal was a seventies T.V.programme a western revolving around the Cannon family also an Epsom Derby winner and dual breeders cup winner.
Lets wrap this up only one to go...Wicked colour....We have established the first word has 1 syllable the second word is just a colour. When you add ed to a word it denotes past tense so it could be superfluous. He is a chaser of the early seventies famous for  one spectacular finish in a premier handicap.
Report Kalanisi March 27, 2011 11:00 PM BST
Q8 Grey Sombrero
Report wildmanfromborneo March 27, 2011 11:07 PM BST
No not that fine old chaser, this fellow never ran in the Grand National but he has an association with an Aintree great and same colour.

Report wildmanfromborneo March 29, 2011 10:34 AM BST
Again well done Kalanisi....Q8.Wicked colour....wicked pronounced with one syllable means something you put a wick in = candle...Hence Red Candle 1973 Hennessey winner beating no less than Red Rum in a thrilling finish.
FINAL SCORES.
Ribellaro.11
Kalanisi.4
Workrider.3
Downallstar.2
Giant Strides.1
Anywherebutcheltenham.1
Baggers.1

Ribellaro is the Arkle of the quiz world cryptic or otherwise.you will notice he is lambasting them all on the British forum as well look how far clear he is on the Cheltenham quiz.
Kalanisi you were noted ambling along at the back of the field, dare i say not trying, but you ran on impressively to finish a never nearer second.Unfortunately the stewards have taken a dim view of your performance there is talk of a 42 day ban with fine to follow.
