Tony Ward has just confirmed my low opinion of him.He and this programme are trying to re write history,he was a very promising but notoriously selfish outhalf who was disliked by the other players and when a better outhalf, Ollie Campbell, came along he was quite rightly dropped. He fought back by forming an alliance with Irish Times journalist Edmund Van Esbeck and it was on his advice he did not travel to South Africa those false tears he shed on the programme were nauseating.

Nauseating is a word that could be applied to quite alot of the rugby fraternity particularly the players.Elitism plus egotism are two traits that can be found in most rugby internationals. Now I don't know any rugby player personally but watching any of them being interviewed, there has never been one case where I thought I could warm to them.I have only met one international ever and that was Alan Quinlan,to say he was a cokk would be the understatement of the century.I think the prikk was of the opinion that people were privileged to be in his company.Ward is possibly no different than most of the rest of them

The amazing thing is the attraction birds have to these tools. Most are built like shithouses fair enough, but a rake of them are fat ogers and there's more brains in a rugby ball than in most of them.Even the so called heart throbs wouldn't get a look in if they were actors
