I don't recall a better mare's race, for me its the highlight tomorrow. Will wait for prices before throwing up a few losers.

in compliance at 20's ew  worth a small wager imo

What a race the Kinloch Brae is - Has the loook of a Grade 1 - I'd say she'll be fav but I'll be sticking with J'y Vole. Everything should be ideal for her here and it was interesting to hear Willie say yesterday that he thinks there is a big Grade 1 in her - perhaps over 2m - and the only reason he didn't put her in the Tied Cottage on Sunday was because he heard Sizing Europe was running (He must think SE will win so).
Great mares race too and I think Blazing Tempo will continue her winning streak here - Hopefully they'll back For Bill, which they more than likely will, and we'll get a decent price about BT. And good to see Whyso Mayo back in the hunters chase, altho age might be catching up on him now.
NAP - Blazing Tempo
NB - J'y Vole

3.20 - Think JY Vole is the most likely winner but 9/4 is no real value, and nothing else appeals at the prices.

3.50 - Cracking race, hard to split the top trio. Cool Quest looks big at 16s, as does Gentle Alice at 14s. Gentle Alice sluiced in lto in a Mares Chase beating some of the same rivals as the top three, but further. Her 2nd last start also reads very well, she was in there going to 2 out before a bad mistake put paid to her race, the winner Western Charmer followed up with 3rd in a G1 and 2nd in a G2 since. The 5th, 6th & 7th have all win since, the 7th Drive On Jim has won 3 times. It is a very tough race so a small w+p & back to lay.

3.20 - Glencove Marina (Thought he ran a blinder in the Lexus and just seemed to get tired on the run in. Likes it around here and the step back in trip is a positive in my opinion and in relation to the 2 ahead of him in the market i think he is cracking value)

3.50 - Gentle Alice (Have to agree with down, she looks way too big. Blazing Tempo looks too short to me, still not convinced with For Bill at all this season, never been a fan of Morning Supreme and what has she done to warrant being so short? Gentle Alice was very impressive last time slamming Shirley Casper who i thought would of gone close to winning at Leopardstown on MCR day had Paddy Flood given her any sort of decent ride)

If he runs as well as he did in the Lexus he wins in my opinion and he loves it around here
Report downallstar • January 27, 2011 10:09 AM GMT
I mite have a small w+p on Trafford Lad, was going as well as anything lto until he hit the 2nd last and was eased, wasn't given a hard ride to that point either.
Report SatelliteFlight • January 27, 2011 10:12 AM GMT
I thought Grancore Girl was overpriced in that 2.10, if you ignore her last run the time before she ran a fine race on ground that is likely to be like today's behind Sizing Mexico and Gran Torino. With Hayes taking off (7) i think she is reasonable well treated
Report Winnerallrite • January 27, 2011 10:13 AM GMT
I think Roberto ran a cracking race last time out is a v good chaser, beating Weapons Amnesty over this sort of trip and is the value today.

Report dinglemick • January 27, 2011 11:39 AM GMT
Agree with Newmanix ...Concrete and Clay should be good each way bet at 5 s in the handicap hurdle .. Course and distance winner on his only previous run around Thurles ... Drop back to two miles should help aswell having travelled well over 2 m 2 f at Leopardstown the last day ... Usually try to avoid ones that run up a streak of placed finishes but in fairness he is probably genuine as he has won 4 times in his career ....

a little e/w for me on trafford lad @ 19/1 and 4/1 a place on here ......
Report SatelliteFlight • January 27, 2011 2:18 PM GMT
Any chance they could make more use of Grancore Girl next time? She looks to be a dour stayer who gets outpaced when the pace quickens and then stays on strongly at the end, also she jumps rather slowly so holding her up in the middle of the pack ain't gonna suit.
Anyway at least she placed Grin

FTP's jumping had gone to pieces. Used to be a v slick jumper. Cool ride by Mangan and got him jumping a lot better. Still a shock. I thought he had a big chance lto in a handicap.

SINDAR I BACKED HIM LTO AN AGREE SUPER RIDE BY YOUNG MANGAN WHO LOOOKS GOOD PROSPECT
Report sinndar001 • January 27, 2011 3:47 PM GMT
FTP does have ability, he cruised into the Gold Cup at punch last and didn't seem to get home. He's after beating a few Ryanair  outsiders there so maybe he's now an outsider for that race.

Any news on Russell, looked a bad fall.
Report silvergreaser • January 27, 2011 4:31 PM GMT
In fairness to the jockey on Cool Quest BJG, the front 3 quickened away from him, its not as if he wasn't rowing away at this stage, for all intents and purposes he looked booked for a remote fourth, jockey seemed to except his faith, the leading 3 get did start to tire fairly quickly up front (morning supreme tired fall), Cool Quest was plodding on without the jockey beating him up, Coleman was probably surprised to find himself so close to Blazing Tempo's Quarters at the line?.

Report wildmanfromborneo • January 27, 2011 11:19 PM GMT
Thurles does not have good facilities with regards stands, bars and corporate areas but it does have the best track in Ireland, its not called Irelands first all weather track for nothing, also it is the best viewing track in Ireland. If you are a fancy dan looking for best dressed ladies competitions then Thurles is not for you but if you like  national hunt racing and ordinary jump enthusiasts then Thurles is the place for you.
I was there today and thankfully the cold put the messers off.
Report ChildOfMine2 • January 27, 2011 11:19 PM GMT
Me too did think that Coleman's efforts in the closing stages on Cool Quest was fairly shocking. Any effort whatsoever and he'd have been second.
Report Swinia • January 28, 2011 11:24 AM GMT
i was there myself and your spouting absolute dung.... its a horrible track, tight bends, difficult fence at the top of the hill and compares poorly to Fairyhoyuse (similar in layout), Naas, Navan, Leop, Punchestown...not have good facilities ?????????? thats an understatement to say the least and yes i was there for the racing not the best dressed ladies competition
Report wildmanfromborneo • January 28, 2011 10:01 PM GMT
Swinia....Did you not enjoy the racing?
Cant agree with you about it being like Fairyhouse in layout, but unlike Fairyhouse it has a great track that can take some hardship.Thurles runs schooling sessions regularly not unusual to see upwards of a hundred horses on the track yet it repairs itself and races throughout the winter, thats why it is vital to Irish racing.
