as the big freeze hit home over the xmas , it got me thinking , some on here will say thats impossible ... nevertheless , think i did , what came home to me was how low on the racing food chain we are . Yet without us there is nothing , forget owners trainers jockeys etc .. Without punters , no prize money ,no trainers ,no jockeys .Yet we have no one to represent us on any racing forum . We are treated like the great unwashed at many courses , Most so called big meetings seem to forget their bread and butter providers . Maybe its time the heads of racings governing bodies took the time to realize just how important we really are .

i was their that day myself shotgun willy . to be fair i think the xmas weather had a lot to do with the crowd this year . but you are right less and less of us willing to put our hard earned on the line . dont think i'll even bother renewing my go racing in kildare badge this year . sadly the forgotten species are us punters . i belive ted said that punters have no rights , i wonder if he ever thinks how he made his name . if i remember correctly it was riding well backed horses . the day will come and it might be to late , when coolmore and godolphins horses are running in matches . how many punters will turn up then mr walsh .
