Great to see all the empty seats in the Aviva, it's about time people started to stand up for themselves and not take everything lying down!!

Did know one tell the IRFU, that the Celtic Tiger is dead!?!

with O'Leary in the grave.

& if the rugby-set are potless, it don't bode well for
the FAI's chances of paying off the 74m they owe...

Theyre changing the name to "The IMF Stadium" by Q2 next year Mischief

Be less at the next match watching this irish team..
Report Rocketfingers November 6, 2010 6:35 PM GMT
Jesus i have never seen a smaller crowd for an international match, what was the prize of a ticket? Could be nearly as many next week for the FAI cup final.
Report steeringjobnap November 6, 2010 6:36 PM GMT
100eur plus is what I heard on the dispatches.

laughable to go & see that shower of bottlers.
Report timberman November 6, 2010 6:38 PM GMT
the days of 100 euro are well over...50 euro the most anyone could pay for a sporting event be it a 6 nations match or all ireland final...
Report workrider November 6, 2010 6:40 PM GMT
steering , over on my thread you said evens was a great price ffs , now the 're a shower of bottlers Laugh no pleasing some people is there ... ?
Report steeringjobnap November 6, 2010 6:48 PM GMT
they were evens in the corresponding fixture last year W/R in near-identical circumstances; and actually turned-up.

hence the reason for the phrase "bottlers".

they wouldn't pass water today...

O'Gara and Stringer made it look respectable!! Two great players!!!
Report thegalwayman November 6, 2010 7:49 PM GMT
First time Ronan O'Gara has been associated with the word respectable.
Report donal November 6, 2010 8:21 PM GMT
I mean they made the scoreline look respectable! Don't know what your're talking about thegalwayman.

80,000 tickets sold at E80:00 in 40 minutes for a rock band at  Slane Castle...yep sure the Celtic Tiger is deaded
Report Diamond_Joe_Quimby November 6, 2010 8:53 PM GMT
Most of those 80,000 were probably the same students acting like t*ats in Dublin as well
Report Anaglogs Daughter November 6, 2010 8:58 PM GMT
Oi! Diamond behave thats the future of Ireland you are talking about.
Report donal November 6, 2010 10:42 PM GMT
Where did you get that info Anaglogs, The Sun! Anyway that concert is a once off in Slane, unlike an Ireland Rugby match. They have played South Africa 7 times in the last ten years, plus its live on free to air TV, you'd be mad to pay those prices.
Report LeinsterBeliever November 7, 2010 10:07 AM GMT
Here is a conspiracy theory for you. How come there was no official attendance figure for last night. Can't find it on IRFU site, BBC, RTE. THey're embarrassed and didn't call it out.
Report GANT007 November 7, 2010 12:19 PM GMT
Second hand info but a few bodies shy of 35000.
Report LeinsterBeliever November 7, 2010 12:31 PM GMT
Just read it in the Sunday Times. Appears only ones with it. 35517. 68% full or 32% empty. Depends which way you look at it.
Report punkha1 November 7, 2010 12:58 PM GMT
I presume there will be plenty of tickets available for the All Black match?
Report neill d November 7, 2010 6:36 PM GMT
Wow funny how people were slagging saying 50,000 was too low a capacity

It seems all the johnny come lately egg ball fans who jumped on the Munster/Leinster/OIRELAND bandwagon have gone back in their shells
Report paddletoe November 7, 2010 7:01 PM GMT
The most important aspect in nearly every sport are the supporters. But the supporters need to make a stand when there is a need to and this does not happen enough.

The prices for this match and next few games are an absolute disgrace and a slap in the face to the supporters, without whom, there could be no professionalism in rugby.

Supporters need to stand up for themselves and if they did they would be in a very strong position. I would like to see a united stand by supporters and a total boycot of irelands next few games.

The players need to take a good look at themselves too. They need to remember that they serve the supporters and not the other way around.
Report LeinsterBeliever November 7, 2010 7:17 PM GMT
I think 35K at the game was a pretty strong statement.

I think they'll be shat on in the papers tomorrow.

Yeah Leinster v Munster attracted 50,000+ for a Magners league game only 4 weeks ago the tickets were fairly priced and it was by far the best sporting event I've seen in the Aviva so far.

Its a serious error by the IRFU on the ticketing issue no sport could get people to pay  €340 for tickets to just 4 games one of which includes Samoa.
