plenty of middle-class numpties "protesting" on Grafton St. today.

then back home to SoCoDu to the Mammy for tea & crumpets.

the irony that their parents' generation caused the mess the country is in, appears lost on them.

this doesn't distract from my sympathy for the genuine cases [thousands, indeed] of people whose parents simply cannot afford the 2,500eur p/a.

Was 1.01 to happen wasnt it, what a bunch of numpties. Embarrassing.
Report redbait November 3, 2010 4:33 PM GMT
Like ye say, it was bound to happen. The vast majority of those ponces are getting put through college by mammy and daddy and wont be remotely affected by fees. It was a certainty that they would either go on the mad lash and disgrace themselves or start a riot and disgrace themselves. Filthy Celtic Cubs the majority of them. Hope the guards knock seven shades of it out of the main protagonists. Sympathy to the genuine youngsters that are actually interested in education, not just drinking and fighting, that can't afford to put themselves through college

I went to school with one of the guards there, few of them got into the Dept of Finance and they obviously lost that fight big time. Dont blame the Guards for going as strong as possible there.
Most I'd say are grand but its also a certainty some have all been drinking so was bound to happen, and I'd have a big bet some went with the idea of causing trouble anyway.

Maybe if the rest of the country got up off their arses and did a bit more protesting then those useless bastards in Leinster House might take a bit more notice of the people!
Report Poohna November 3, 2010 5:10 PM GMT
why should that many guards be protecting the department of finance - they should have let them in and air their views - might wake the spacers inside up
Report Tony Fenton November 3, 2010 5:16 PM GMT
What are these guards referred to herein?

Fire guards?

Security guards?

Face guards?

Fianna Fail the most incompetent, self-serving, unpatriotic clowns the state has ever seen.

Fair play to the students.

This country is under the rule of a dictatorship imho.
They have announced this evening that the Donegal by election will be held by the end of the month and the rest in March.
This is complete and utter contempt for democracy in this country in order to keep themselves bedded in power.

not only this but it wastes TAXPAYERS money in order to contest a case which only FF have an interest in winning.

Disgusting and abhorent. Traitors every last one of them.

They are appealing todays decision to the Supreme Court.

Well said Diamond Joe.

Fianna Fail, your days are numbered. Time for democracy.I'm in no mood for your grubby little attempts to cling onto power.

41.56% of First Preference Votes were bestowed on Zanu FF in the last election (2007).

Where have all these upstanding members of the electorate gone?
